Hi, I'm Amanda. I have over 15 years' experience as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in Illinois. I earned by Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Lewis University. I provide telehealth services to individuals over the age of 18 who are experiencing anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship issues, grief, stress, and work/life concerns. I love helping and empowering individuals develop the skills that increase life satisfaction and wellbeing.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Often the first session can be scary. I create a welcoming, non-judgmental environment that allows you to speak freely. We will review consents, and the intake form you fill out; we will talk about what has brought you to therapy now and together we will set goals that you want to work on. My goal for your first session is that you leave feeling heard and excited about our next session.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

With over 15 years as a clinician, I have learned the importance of listening and individualization. I want you to feel heard. I will ask questions to understand better. You are unique and your situation is not the same as anyone else.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I enjoy working with adults (18+) who are ready for a change. You might not know what the change is but you know you want something more out of life.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive behavioral theory identifies the connection between our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. By gaining improved understanding of this connection, together we can learn to identify, challenge and change our thoughts - essentially rewiring our brains.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Acceptance and commitment therapy looks at the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. By learning to sit with our emotions and stop trying to avoid how we are feeling, we can learn to live and be present in the current moment.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness-based therapy looks at the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors without judgment. Through the development and implementation of meditation strategies we can learn to have a non-judgmental observation of our thoughts and emotions.

Interpersonal

Interpersonal therapy takes a closer look at patterns and behaviors that impact our relationships. By developing communication and conflict resolution skills our interpersonal relationships that may impact our wellbeing, can improve.

Eclectic

An eclectic approach reminds us that we are all individuals and there is no one size fits all. We will use strategies from a variety of frameworks to best help you meet your goals.
