What do you hope would be better about yourself, about your life, about your marriage, about your family? This is my chief focus as a therapist. I get to the heart of what you really want and hope for in the first session, beginning with the end in mind. I believe hope is an essential mechanism for change in human beings. Hope drives us to accomplish the greatest feats in our lives.
The first session I spend the first five minutes reviewing the "ground rules of therapy." These are a list of five things I share with everyone the first time I meet with them. After, I offer a chance for the client to ask any initial questions they might have about myself or the services I offer or therapy in general. From there, we spend the rest of the session discussing why you are here and what you hope to get out of therapy.
I specialize in Solution Focused Therapy, a very positive and "straight to the point" approach when it comes to you getting what you want out of the therapeutic process.
I have assisted people in striving for hope during my times in ministry, youth work, crisis response and in the counseling setting. I work with individuals, couples and families. I especially enjoy helping couples get back to having a hopeful marriage.
Common clients who find me helpful are couples, black males, people struggling with hope, and people who desire to achieve a better version of themselves.
