New to Grow
Hi, I'm Jennifer Burkhardt, LPC, PMH-C. I help women who are feeling overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, and stretched thin by the demands of everyday life. Many of my clients are carrying the invisible mental load of motherhood, relationships, work, and caring for others while struggling to find space for themselves. Whether you're navigating anxiety, pregnancy, postpartum challenges, or a difficult season of change, therapy can provide a space to slow down, feel supported, and reconnect with yourself. I offer virtual therapy throughout Texas and strive to create a warm, practical, and nonjudgmental environment where meaningful growth can happen.
Your first session is really just a chance for us to get to know each other. We'll talk about what's been going on, what's feeling difficult right now, and what led you to reach out for support. You don't need to have everything figured out or know exactly what to say. Many clients come to their first session feeling nervous, overwhelmed, or unsure where to start, and that's completely okay. My goal is to create a comfortable, supportive space where you can share at your own pace and begin feeling a little less alone in what you're carrying.
One of my greatest strengths is helping clients feel comfortable enough to be honest about what they're carrying. I strive to create a space where you don't have to have the right words or have everything figured out. Along with providing support and understanding, I also help clients gain insight, develop practical coping strategies, and take meaningful steps toward the changes they want to make.
I am best positioned to support women who are feeling overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, and stretched thin by the demands of everyday life. Many of my clients are navigating anxiety, motherhood, pregnancy, postpartum challenges, life transitions, or the invisible mental load of caring for others. They often appear to be managing everything on the outside while feeling depleted, disconnected, or stuck on the inside. Together, we work toward greater balance, self-understanding, and practical strategies that help them feel more grounded, supported, and like themselves again.
Other specialties
I identify as
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use CBT to help clients understand how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors influence one another. Together, we look at patterns that may be contributing to anxiety, overwhelm, stress, or self-doubt and explore more helpful ways of responding. My approach is supportive and practical, helping clients build coping skills, gain insight, and make meaningful changes that feel realistic in their everyday lives.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
I use Solution-Focused Brief Therapy to help clients identify their strengths, build on what is already working, and focus on meaningful goals for the future. Rather than getting stuck in problems, we explore practical steps that can help create positive change. This approach encourages clients to recognize their resilience, develop confidence in their abilities, and make progress in a way that feels manageable and realistic.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
I use a person-centered approach to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients can openly explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. I believe that meaningful change begins with feeling heard, understood, and accepted. My role is to help clients gain insight, connect with their strengths, and move toward the life they want in a way that feels authentic to them.
