Having worked in the educational field for many years, I chose to go into to counseling in order to help others who are in need of understanding, support and encouragement. Allowing someone to express their thoughts, feeling and helping them see or understand what may be holding them back or creating issues in their life is rewarding. My aim is help others learning how to manage and go forward with all they have experienced and encountered.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Important to become comfortable with your therapist, repour building and earning a sense of trust from me is most important. Getting to know a client, in the first few sessions with your history, current & past issues, identify what our focus in therapy will be. Following sessions, you may have suggested "homework" outside of sessions and it is not required. You will never be forced to do or talk about anything you do not feel 100% comfortable doing. You have full autonomy.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strengths: understanding, empathic, compassionate, relatable, non-judgmental and "I will hear you".

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT helps clients identify distorted or negative thought patterns which may leads a client to maladaptive behaviors. Understanding how our automatic thought patterns and learned behaviors shape how we act, react and feel. I use a variety of interventions when working with clients.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

DBT is used to help my clients learn to handle their distress without losing control or acting destructively. Instead of suppressing emotions you can learn to self -regulate in a healthier manner. Using DBT clients will learn skills specifically on distress tolerance, mindfulness, emotional regulations skills and interpersonal effectiveness.

Trauma-Focused CBT

Offering trauma focused therapy in order to mange past traumas and present issues.
