About me

Hello! My name is Heather, a Licensed Professional Counselor serving individuals in Texas, and I specialize in helping individuals overcome hardships to lead healthier, happier lives. My approach is warm, collaborative, and practical. I use evidence-based techniques while meeting each person where they are, helping individuals build confidence, strengthen relationships, process difficult experiences, and develop the tools they need to move forward with hope. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, parenting challenges, or simply feeling overwhelmed, we’ll work together at a pace that feels right for you. If you are experiencing anxiety, depression, or navigating difficult relationship issues, please know that you do not have to face these challenges alone.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

When I meet with someone new, I approach the session from a person-centered modality of listening and building a safe and trusting environment where they can be all who they are without judgement. In my practice you will find that I listen in order to focus on helping you find your inner strength to overcome hardships and lead a healthier and happier life. I encourage you to allow yourself to experience any emotion or thought freely. Therapy offers a confidential, supportive space to explore your thoughts and behaviors. Sessions typically last 53 - 60 minutes weekly; it include guided conversations, and may involve exercises to build coping skills or achieve personal goals. As a compassionate, nonjudgmental, and caring individual, I have worked with diverse populations in both residential and outpatient settings, specializing in dual diagnoses, such as anxiety, ADD/ADHD, OCD, substance use, and at-risk individuals. I have gained experience in my years of working with youth, adults, and families in and around the public school system, substance use inpatient, and treatment facilities. Overall, I bring my diverse experience to each session with my dedication to helping individuals find the power to change their lives and maintain balance and peace. Together, we will address your specific challenges, set meaningful goals, and monitor your progress at a pace that feels right for you.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My therapeutic approach is collaborative, focusing on addressing specific needs, setting goals, and monitoring progress with compassion and care. I use a variety of evidence-based approaches and techniques that compliment the morals, values and beliefs held by clients, their partner/s, their children, and/or their family. Rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach, I integrate evidence-based treatments including, but not limited to, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, solution-focused therapy, and person-centered therapy based on each individual's needs and goals. Taking the first step toward therapy requires immense courage, and I applaud you for making this choice. When you are ready to take the next step, I am here to support you. I look forward to the opportunity to work together.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal client is someone who is truly motivated and ready to take meaningful steps toward healing. Whether you’re a teenager, or adult facing anxiety, trauma, life changes, relationship struggles, or overwhelming stress, you don’t have to have it all figured out. Someone committed to a two-way therapeutic relationship, who wants to be challenged, willing to learn coping techniques, improve communication skills, obtain greater self-awareness, establish healthier relationships, and increase his/her emotional well-being.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help individuals identify and change unhealthy thought patterns, emotions, and behaviors that contribute to emotional distress. I work collaboratively with individuals to develop practical coping skills, challenge negative beliefs, improve self-awareness, and develop healthier ways of thinking and responding to life’s challenges.
