I have the ability to mend relationships, as I have brought my relationship with my wife from shambles to diamonds, and our "ship" is still moving North in the direction we both want, despite our differences and disagreements along the way. There is no more all-or-nothing thinking or engagement in back-n-forth arguments or break-ups; instead, there is peace, love, cooling off, and acceptance of our different love languages and personalities.
On 12-30-25, I am 6yrs sober from marijuana, as well as from the addictions of gambling, sex, and buying expensive cars beyond my means.
I have 8yo fraternal twin boys and 2 step children ages 24 and 26. Cats and dogs too, 2 each.
I will help welcome you to the healthy world of Independence, Interdependence, and get rid of Codependence.

Abeke "Kay" Baker, LMFT, is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a 2011 graduate of Mercer University School of Medicine’s Master’s program in Marriage and Family Therapy. With a career in mental health and social services that began at just 14 years old, Abeke brings over 18 years of hands-on experience to her work. She began as a youth counselor with the Red Cross Lock Key Kids safety program and has since served in diverse roles, including Program Director for Howard County Parks and Recreation in Columbia, MD—supporting youth and young adults with developmental disabilities, autism, and maladaptive behaviors—as well as working in inpatient crisis stabilization settings for both adolescents and adults.
Founder of All 1 Family, Inc.
Abeke is the founder of All 1 Family, Inc., a nonprofit community mental health organization based in Atlanta, GA. The organization is dedicated to supporting the mental wellness of LGBTQ+ individuals—especially people of color—by offering a safe, affirming space for clients to explore their identities and experiences with the support of culturally competent therapists. All 1 Family provides low-cost counseling services, including individual, family, group, and couples therapy. The clinicians—many of whom identify as LGBTQ+ or allies of color—bring lived experience and deep empathy to their work.
Founder’s Statement
“While working across inpatient and community-based mental health settings—providing crisis intervention, assessments, and psychotherapy—I noticed a troubling pattern: many LGBTQ+ individuals were seeking support but struggled to find providers who were affirming, empathetic, and nonjudgmental. This gap often led individuals to delay or forgo much-needed care. All 1 Family was born from the belief that everyone deserves a safe space to be seen, heard, and supported.”
As a military daughter, sister, and granddaughter, I have experienced firsthand the unique challenges that come with military life. My family was stationed at Fort Stewart before we settled in Statesboro. Since 2016, I have dedicated my career to working with children, adolescents, families, and adults. I achieved my LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) in 2021. My therapeutic approach is rooted in empathy and understanding, and I believe in creating a safe, supportive space where clients can explore their thoughts and feelings. I specialize in addressing issues such as depression, ADHD, stress, adolescent and teen mental/behavioral health, children's mental/behavioral health, military and veteran support, family relationships, grief and bereavement, anxiety, and anger management.

I’m a North Carolina–licensed clinical mental health counselor with over 20 years of experience supporting individuals through some of life’s toughest challenges. My work focuses on helping people heal from trauma, manage anxiety and depression, rebuild after divorce, and navigate complex emotional issues such as bipolar disorder, eating disorders, grief, and chronic medical illness. I also provide support for those struggling with self-esteem, sleep issues, and life transitions.
I bring a compassionate, down-to-earth approach to therapy and believe in creating a space where you feel safe, understood, and empowered. Whether you’re facing something recent or carrying pain from the past, I work with you to build practical tools for healing and growth.
A proud North Carolina native, I hold a B.S. from Western Carolina University, an M.S. in counseling from Webster University, and a doctorate in psychology from Liberty University. I’m passionate about helping you find clarity, strength, and hope—one step at a time.
Throughout life, we all experience some form of trauma, and I was no exception. Adversity often felt like my middle name. One of the most impactful influences in my teenage years was my school counselor, who truly “understood the misunderstood” and with whom I still keep in touch more than 25 years later.
My passion for psychology has stayed strong throughout my life—whether evidence-based or holistic, I’m eager to learn it, apply it, and share it with others. I believe my purpose is to support people through both my knowledge and my personal experiences. I am grateful for the trust parents place in me to support their children and teens who feel unheard or misunderstood, as well as adults who feel lost or broken on their journey.
Life is not always an easy path—but you don’t have to walk it alone. Let’s take the journey together.
Personal growth isn’t one-size-fits-all, so we’ll figure out what actually works for you. Drawing on similar client experience and research-based approaches, I help you move through life with both understanding and practical, actionable skills. You can be yourself here—yes, you can absolutely swear.
I specialize in ADHD (ADHD-CSSP certified) and LGBTQ+ concerns, and I also work extensively with clients navigating depression, phone addiction, anger and coping skills, relationship issues, life or career transitions, and Autism Spectrum support, along with other areas listed in my profile.

I hold every session with empathy and compassion, but also with realness. I believe in truth-telling that heals, the kind that may not always be easy to hear but always comes from love and respect for who you are becoming. Together, we explore not only why patterns exist but how to shift them in the body and in daily life. Our work invites peace back into your nervous system and power back into your choices.
I walk beside those who are ready to stop surviving and begin living in alignment with their wholeness. You do not need to be fixed. You need to be met, witnessed, and reminded of the power that has always been yours. In this space, healing is sacred, personal, and deeply human.
About Me
Hi, friend — I’m Shawn, a Licensed Professional Counselor who helps people heal from the inside out through trauma-informed, mindfulness-based, and motivational therapy.
I believe therapy should feel like a steady hand and a safe porch — a place to rest, reflect, and rebuild. Whether you’re untangling the impact of trauma, struggling with anxiety, or just feeling disconnected from yourself, my goal is to help you rediscover peace, purpose, and confidence in your life.
My Approach
My work is guided by compassion, grounded in neuroscience, and built on practical tools for real change. I combine:
Trauma Therapy – to help you process and release the weight of past experiences safely and gently.
Mindfulness Practices – to reconnect body and mind, quiet racing thoughts, and bring calm awareness to the present moment.
Motivational Therapy – to strengthen your sense of direction, boost confidence, and help you move from stuck to steady.
Each session is tailored to your needs — a balance of reflection, insight, and action. Together, we’ll work to build resilience, restore hope, and create new patterns that align with the life you want to live.

Hello, I am Shaqueena. Are you tired of being tired? Do you feel that no one understands your situation or that no one can relate? Are you unsure if therapy is right for you?
If you are here, then that means that you are ready and motivated to make some changes in your life. Seeking help can sometimes be tough, which is why I believe that we all experience things in our life that goes beyond our ability to cope and when that happens we need a little more assistance.
As a licensed professional counselor, my ultimate goal is to first normalize seeking assistance by decreasing the stigma on mental health. In doing so, my goal is to assist individuals in their healing process, to empower individuals to become the best version of themselves and to help individuals to see that life is completely what you make it.
My preference for treatment is to utilize a trauma-informed approach in addition to CBT, EMDR and Choice/Reality Therapy.
Hello! I enjoy using a variety of treatment methods to help you improve your quality of life. I treat adults and children. I've worked in community mental health treating anxiety, depression, trauma, conflict situations, addiction, and a variety of other disorders. Let's work together!

Hi, I’m Paul. I am a Licensed Therapist and my goal is to help you discover ways forward through distress towards wellness. While we can't change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand and resolve challenges in your life. Distress is experienced in many different ways that impact our ability to function and cope within a healthy framework. By applying complementary therapy approaches and techniques, we will unearth behavioral patterns and pain perceptions that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life.
If you're looking for extra support and guidance through a challenging situation or are just ready to move in a new direction, I look forward to working with you to achieve your goals. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or to book a session.
Thanks. Hope I can be a resource.
