Hi, I’m a licensed therapist committed to helping individuals grow, heal, and move forward with intention. I believe many of the patterns we developed earlier in life once served a purpose but may no longer align with who we are becoming. My approach is collaborative, practical, and empowering, integrating evidence-based practices such as CBT, DBT, and Motivational Interviewing to support emotional awareness, resilience, and meaningful change. I strive to create a supportive, culturally responsive space where you can feel heard, challenged, and equipped with tools to navigate life with greater clarity and confidence.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, you can expect a calm, welcoming space where we focus on getting to know you — not judging you. We’ll spend time discussing what brought you to therapy, what you’ve been experiencing, and what you hope will be different in your life. I may ask thoughtful questions about your history, current stressors, relationships, and coping patterns to better understand the full picture. You are always in control of what you choose to share, and we move at a pace that feels safe and respectful. If you’re a parent bringing your child, the first session may include time with you to gather background information, understand concerns, and discuss goals. For adults, we will clarify what you’d like support with and begin identifying initial goals and next steps. You can also expect me to explain how I work, what therapy may look like moving forward, and answer any questions you have. My goal in the first session is for you to leave feeling heard, understood, and clear about what the process will look like — with a sense of direction and hope about what’s possible.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

What stands out about my therapeutic approach is the balance between compassion and structure. I create a space where clients feel genuinely seen and understood, while also providing practical tools and clear direction for change. Therapy with me is not just about talking — it’s about building skills, increasing insight, and applying what you learn to real-life situations. I integrate evidence-based methods such as CBT, DBT, and Motivational Interviewing, but I tailor each session to the individual. I consider developmental stage, family dynamics, cultural background, and lived experiences when shaping interventions. My approach is both trauma-informed and growth-focused, helping clients understand where patterns began while equipping them with strategies to move forward. Clients often share that they appreciate my ability to be supportive yet direct — offering accountability without judgment. The results tend to include increased emotional regulation, clearer thinking, healthier boundaries, improved communication, and a stronger sense of confidence and self-awareness. Ultimately, my work focuses on helping clients break cycles that no longer serve them and develop sustainable skills that support long-term emotional wellness.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work best with adults who feel deeply, think deeply, and carry a lot — even if they don’t always show it. You may be high-functioning on the outside but overwhelmed on the inside. Maybe you struggle with anxiety, overthinking, emotional reactivity, people-pleasing, burnout, or patterns in relationships that keep repeating. You might be the “strong one” for everyone else, yet rarely feel supported yourself. If you’re not looking to be judged, labeled, or told what to do — but instead want to truly understand yourself and build practical skills that create real change — we would likely work well together. I help adults develop emotional regulation, healthier thought patterns, stronger boundaries, and clarity about who they are becoming. Our work is collaborative and direct. We’ll explore what shaped you, identify what no longer serves you, and build tools that help you respond differently — not just in theory, but in everyday life. If you’re ready to do the work and want a space that is supportive, structured, and growth-focused, I’m here for that.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is one of the primary treatment approaches I use in my practice. I have extensive experience utilizing CBT to support individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma-related symptoms, stress, behavioral challenges, and life transitions. CBT is grounded in the understanding that our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are interconnected. Often, the patterns we developed earlier in life were protective at the time but may no longer serve us in the present. In our work together, I help clients identify unhelpful thought patterns, cognitive distortions, and core beliefs that may be contributing to emotional distress or behavioral difficulties. In my practice, I use CBT in a collaborative and practical way. Together, we: Identify automatic thoughts and underlying beliefs Examine the evidence for and against those thoughts Develop more balanced, empowering perspectives Practice behavioral strategies that reinforce change I often integrate CBT with a humanistic and culturally responsive lens. As a therapist, I recognize that lived experiences, family systems, and cultural narratives influence how we think and respond to the world. My goal is not simply to “change thoughts,” but to help clients build awareness, increase flexibility, and develop healthier patterns that align with who they are becoming. I also incorporate real-life application, homework tools, reflection exercises, and skill-building strategies so clients can practice between sessions. I believe therapy should be both insightful and actionable — helping clients not only understand themselves better but also feel equipped to navigate life with greater confidence and clarity. Ultimately, I use CBT to help clients break cycles that no longer serve them and create new pathways forward — which aligns deeply with the heart of therapy practices.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is an evidence-based treatment approach I use to support clients who experience intense emotions, difficulty with regulation, relationship challenges, impulsivity, or patterns that feel hard to break. I have experience utilizing DBT skills with adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, mood instability, and high-stress life transitions. DBT is rooted in the balance between acceptance and change. In my practice, I help clients learn how to accept their emotional experiences without judgment while also building practical tools to create meaningful behavioral change. I integrate the four core DBT skill areas into sessions: Mindfulness – Strengthening awareness of thoughts, emotions, and bodily sensations without becoming overwhelmed by them. Distress Tolerance – Developing healthy coping tools to manage crisis moments without making the situation worse. Emotion Regulation – Understanding emotional triggers and learning strategies to reduce vulnerability to intense emotional swings. Interpersonal Effectiveness – Building assertive communication skills while maintaining self-respect and healthy boundaries. My approach to DBT is structured yet relational. I teach skills in a practical, real-life way — often using worksheets, role-play, and in-between session practice so clients can apply tools outside of therapy. I also integrate a culturally responsive and trauma-informed lens, recognizing how systemic stressors, generational experiences, and lived realities impact emotional regulation and relationships. DBT is especially helpful for clients who feel like their emotions are “too much,” who struggle with self-criticism, or who find themselves repeating patterns they genuinely want to change. My goal is to help clients build emotional resilience, increase self-control without shame, and feel empowered in their relationships and decision-making.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a collaborative, client-centered approach I use to help individuals strengthen their internal motivation for change. I have experience utilizing MI with adolescents and adults who may feel ambivalent about change, stuck in patterns, navigating substance use concerns, managing health behaviors, or working through life transitions. Motivational Interviewing is grounded in the belief that people already possess the capacity for growth. Rather than directing or persuading, I use a supportive, non-judgmental approach that helps clients explore their own reasons for change. MI focuses on resolving ambivalence — that space where part of you wants something different, but another part feels hesitant or unsure. In my practice, I use core MI principles such as: Open-ended questions to explore values, goals, and concerns Reflective listening to deepen insight and clarity Affirmations to strengthen confidence and self-efficacy Eliciting change talk to help clients verbalize their own motivations I approach MI with cultural humility and awareness of how systemic stressors, family patterns, and lived experiences shape decision-making. My role is not to tell clients what they should do, but to help them reconnect with their values, identify discrepancies between where they are and where they want to be, and build confidence in their ability to move forward. Motivational Interviewing is especially powerful when clients feel resistant, overwhelmed, or uncertain about next steps. It creates a safe space where change feels empowering rather than pressured.
