I'm an LMHC licensed in Florida, and I've worked with children, adolescents, families, and (over the past three years) adults across homes, schools, outpatient settings, and social service agencies. I have particular experience with military connected families, blended families, and clients navigating ADHD, eating disorders, anxiety, mood and bipolar disorders, grief, and the kinds of life transitions that shake your sense of self. Working with clients to help them learn how to help themselves is my aim in counseling.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

The first session is mostly about you getting comfortable- telling me what brought you in, what's worked before, what hasn't, and where you'd like things to go. I'll ask questions, but there's no script you need to follow. By the end of the first few sessions, we'll have a treatment plan we build together- clear goals, tools and strategies you can use between sessions, and a sense of how the work will move forward. You don't have to come up with a clear sense of what you want from therapy. That's part of what we figure out together in the first few weeks.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My approach is integrative- what we use in session depends on what you're bringing to the work. For clients managing anxiety or ADHD, that often looks like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and concrete skill building. For clients working through trauma, mood swings, or dysregulated emotions, I lean on Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Cognitive Processing Therapy. With younger clients and families, I use Play, Art, and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy so the work meets kids on their level. The thread through all of it is collaboration: you tell me what's working, what isn't, and we adjust.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

If you are looking for a therapist who can sit with the full picture- the child whose ADHD is shaping the whole household, the teen working through an eating disorder, the parent navigating divorce or the adult who's been carrying it for years- that's the work I've spent the last 23 years doing.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I often use Art Therapy to help teens explore thoughts and feelings so that we can transition to Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior (DBT) Therapy to develop a better understanding of thoughts and feelings and how they impact behavior.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I use this to educate clients on emotional regulation, how to minimize negative behaviors, and improve relationships by finding a balance between emotional acceptance and positive behavioral changes.

Play Therapy

I incorporate games and activities to help guide the therapeutic process to develop rapport and help the client gain a better understanding of thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and how they connect.

Reality Therapy

I use reality therapy to help clients understand how their decision making is impacting them in a realistic way to address if they want to make changes and how.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I work with children, adolescents, and adults using Solution Focused Therapy in identifying struggles to develop resiliency and coping skills.
