I serve as a member of the National Board of Certified Counselors Job Analysis Task Force and the American Counseling Association Governance and Board Operations Committee. In 2023, my dedication to the field was further acknowledged with the Healthcare Champion Emerging Leader Award by the South Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. I am also a certified Level II TEAM-CBT Therapist specializing in relationships, habits, addictions, and eating disorders. At a very young age, 3 years old, I began my artistic career dancing ballet. I danced with Miami City Ballet and graduated as a professional dancer from Ballet Concerto in 2003. By the time I became an adolescent I had participated in music videos with Gloria Estefan, danced with numerous known artists including Jon Secada, performed for the Cristina Saralegui Show and modeled the runways. Additionally, I was the Entertainment Reporter for the television show “Paparazzi TV,” aired on MegaTV, and the co-host alongside her prestigious mother, Dra. Vivian Gonzalez-Diaz, of the show “Catarsis con la Dra Vivian” for whom both currently have a podcast named “Esto es una Catarsis”. I'm a huge advocate for children and women with fertility problems. I'm also a Guardian Angel of the Holtz Children’s Hospital of Jackson Health Foundation and participate in numerous community events. I'm dedicated to my profession and passion for the industry.

Hello and welcome to my practice. My name is Cathleen. I earned my Masters in Counseling and Psychology from Troy University. I have been a Licensed Mental Health Counselor for over 10 years. I have years of experience working with individuals and families going through a multitude of issues. I like to help people navigate through their life's challenges and fulfill their life's dreams.

In counseling, I believe in meeting my clients where they are and helping them achieve the goals they set for themselves. I want my clients to realize the decisions they make have consequences, good and bad, and like to assist them to remain accountable for their decisions. It is important for me to look at the client as a whole, to help determine the course of treatment that will suit them best. I look forward to helping you reach your goals.

I have significant experience working with youth (6+) through adults, in multiple forms of therapy, whether it be individual, couples, group, and/or family therapy sessions. Through my career, I have worked at several long-term addiction treatment facilities, multiple schools (K-12), group homes, as well as in private practice. I have experience using a variety of treatment modalities, including art therapy, play therapy (children), mindfulness/meditation, and cognitive behavioral therapy (especially Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy).

My Journey to becoming a therapist began after a career in teaching and raising my three boys. My passion has always been working with children, but as a therapist, I have the ability to help people of all ages. I have a background in working with trauma, adoption, divorce, parent coaching, and the child welfare system, and I have experience working with young children, teens and adults. I specialize in working with children and families who are struggling with child behaviors, life circumstances, family dynamics, adult, relationships, or parent, child relationships, and seek greater connection, harmony, and resiliency in life.
