About me

Hi, I’m Shayna, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor based in Florida with 13+ years of experience supporting women, children, and families. I earned my Master’s degree from Nova Southeastern University and have dedicated my career to helping clients find clarity, resilience, and healing. I specialize in working with women who feel overwhelmed by the demands of motherhood, careers, and the pressure to “hold it all together.” In our sessions, I provide a safe space to slow down, reconnect with yourself, and work through stress, trauma, or burnout. I also work closely with children and families navigating emotional struggles, behavioral challenges, or communication breakdowns. With a trauma-informed approach, I guide parents in understanding behaviors and building strategies that restore connection and peace at home. My goal is to offer both compassion and practical tools so you and your family can experience meaningful, lasting change.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

From the very beginning of our work together, my priority is to create a safe and welcoming space — a place where you can exhale, be yourself, and feel understood without judgment or pressure. In our first session, we’ll focus on getting to know each other. I’ll invite you to share what’s bringing you to therapy at your own pace, and we’ll start to explore the goals, concerns, or hopes you have for this process. There’s no rush and no expectation to have everything figured out — our time is about building trust, understanding your story, and laying the foundation for meaningful growth. Most clients leave their first session feeling a little lighter, more grounded, and with a clearer sense of what to expect moving forward. My approach is always personalized — whether you’re navigating stress, trauma, emotional overwhelm, or relationship challenges, we’ll co-create a path that feels safe, supportive, and tailored to your needs.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I’m a real, engaged therapist—not the “just nod and smile” type. I combine clinical expertise with authentic connection, helping you feel safe, seen, and supported while cutting through the patterns that keep you stuck. Clients describe me as compassionate, honest, and practical—someone who keeps it real while guiding lasting change.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work best with high-achieving women who feel overwhelmed, burned out, or disconnected from themselves while trying to balance careers, caregiving, and relationships. On the outside, they may appear successful, but inside they often feel stuck in survival mode and long for space to breathe, heal, and reconnect with who they are. I also support children who struggle with emotional or behavioral challenges, often rooted in stress, trauma, or family pressures. By working alongside parents, I help them understand what’s driving their child’s behavior and develop strategies that restore calm, connection, and confidence at home. Whether with women or children, my goal is to lighten the emotional load, strengthen resilience, and build emotional literacy. Together, we create a path toward greater self-trust, balance, and connection—so both individuals and families can thrive.

My treatment methods

Trauma Informed Care

I approach this treatment method through a trauma-informed lens, which means I prioritize safety, collaboration, and client empowerment every step of the way.

Family Therapy

For the last decade, part of my focus has been on Family Therapy, where I work tirelessly with families to rebuild connections and enhance their communication abilities.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I make it a priority for my clients to feel ownership of their therapeutic journey. This approach involves presenting my authentic self and establishing a nonjudgmental environment for them. Additionally, I concentrate on tailoring the space to meet my clients' requirements and delivering customized treatment strategies.

Trauma-Focused CBT

Throughout my career, I have primarily worked with individuals who have faced trauma, and trauma-focused CBT has been a consistently effective approach that I have utilized. It's usually utilized with children and adolescents and focuses on unhelpful thinking patterns and challenging guilt and fear.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I utilize this form of treatment to assist my clients in reaching immediate goals especially when it comes treating issues like anxiety and self esteem.
