I am Gillian. I am a natural born empath. Do you struggle with the push through mentality? I want the individuals I work with to feel heard, to feel understood, to know they can be 100 percent themselves with zero judgment. I know finding the right therapist can be difficult. My approach is Person Centered based. This means I wholeheartedly believe a person has the capacity for growth. My specialties include working with individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, grief, and addiction. I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness Based Therapy. I can help with navigating complex and uncomfortable emotions. Seeking therapy is an act of prioritizing yourself. It takes courage to be vulnerable. It can be difficult to get to a place of peace and find joy in the simplest of things when you are in that so to speak tunnel.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

How I like to structure first sessions is providing a brief introduction/background of myself and asking the same of the individual I am working with also adding what ultimately brings them to therapy. I then complete intake of information that pertains to individual's history (ie family and medical history).

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strength as a provider is my laid back, empathetic, non-bias demeanor and personality. Having worked with individuals from Toddler age to the elderly population, I have been able to utilize my strengths in a number of environments with various cultures.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I love working with motivated individuals ready to make a change in their lives toward better understanding and growth; individuals that are willing to begin prioritizing themselves is a key component in working with me. It can be difficult for individuals to put themselves first. Together we can work on how it is beneficial and vital to well-being.

Gillian was very welcoming and knew the right questions to ask during our first session to gain a better understanding of who I was and what I needed help with. She took the pressure off it being my first session, and she is a great listener. Her feedback showed that she was paying attention to what my concerns were and how she thought was best for us to address them.

Gillian is an amazing therapist. She really helps me see things from other angles and helps me understand and work through anything I bring to her. She helped me greatly with my grandfathers passing and continues to help me every week with achieving goals and becoming a better me. I wouldn’t be in this great place I am today without her.

I can’t believe they only let me choose two options to describe Gillian. She is a wonderful and insightful provider. She helps keep me on track with my therapy goals and encourages me to challenge my perspective. She has helped me through a lot of my grief, and continues to help me grow as an individual. She is simply the best.

My treatment methods

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I use a Mindfulness approach to help clients focus on the present as opposed to the potential future or triggering past. There are different mindfulness techniques that help with increasing physical and emotional well-being.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I practice a person-centered approach as gaining and implementing empathy and a deep sense of positive regard can significantly help with increasing self-esteem and self-worth.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT techniques to help individuals identify how their thoughts lead to feelings and behaviors. The main goal is to help individuals challenge negative thoughts.
