(she/her)
I am Gillian. I am a natural born empath. Do you struggle with the push through mentality? I want the individuals I work with to feel heard, to feel understood, to know they can be 100 percent themselves with zero judgment. I know finding the right therapist can be difficult. My approach is Person Centered based. This means I wholeheartedly believe a person has the capacity for growth. My specialties include working with individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, grief, and addiction. I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness Based Therapy. I can help with navigating complex and uncomfortable emotions. Seeking therapy is an act of prioritizing yourself. It takes courage to be vulnerable. It can be difficult to get to a place of peace and find joy in the simplest of things when you are in that so to speak tunnel.
How I like to structure first sessions is providing a brief introduction/background of myself and asking the same of the individual I am working with also adding what ultimately brings them to therapy. I then complete intake of information that pertains to individual's history (ie family and medical history).
My greatest strength as a provider is my laid back, empathetic, non-bias demeanor and personality. Having worked with individuals from Toddler age to the elderly population, I have been able to utilize my strengths in a number of environments with various cultures.
I love working with motivated individuals ready to make a change in their lives toward better understanding and growth; individuals that are willing to begin prioritizing themselves is a key component in working with me. It can be difficult for individuals to put themselves first. Together we can work on how it is beneficial and vital to well-being.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy
I use a Mindfulness approach to help clients focus on the present as opposed to the potential future or triggering past. There are different mindfulness techniques that help with increasing physical and emotional well-being.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
I practice a person-centered approach as gaining and implementing empathy and a deep sense of positive regard can significantly help with increasing self-esteem and self-worth.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use CBT techniques to help individuals identify how their thoughts lead to feelings and behaviors. The main goal is to help individuals challenge negative thoughts.

She seemed really nice from her bio. I liked that she asked clarifying questions and what I wanted out of therapy. She listened to me even though I definitely yapped her ear off lol!

Gillian was so easy to talk to, she understood me even when I didn’t understand myself. She was not judgmental, gave me a focus and priority that we would work on together. I felt…safe.

This is my 4th or 5th time seeing Gillian and she is AMAZING. Her ability to listen and provide support and empower me is a positive change from my previous experiences. She is compassionate and empathetic which aligns to my need as I have faced cruelty in life. She is structured and maintains professionalism but also shares an inviting aura. I have always left the meeting seeking more insight and thought from her. She has been an essential figure in my life for my healing process.
