Hello and Welcome! I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor based in the state of Florida. I hold a graduate degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Rollins College and an undergraduate degree in social work from the University of Central Florida. I have over 20 years of experience in social work and 8 years of counseling experience. I enjoy helping adults work through distressful life events and transitions. Let's explore what is at the core of your issues, explore personal freedoms, and see what it means to live authentically!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session will focus on YOU! We will talk about what brought you to counseling, your unique background, and what you want to see improve in your life. Our focus for the first session is building a solid rapport and addressing goals to work on in future sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My personal experience (and research) has shown that the client-counselor relationship is the predictor of a successful outcome. I focus on building a solid rapport with my clients in a safe, non-judgmental environment. I utilize EMDR, unconditional positive regard, and CBT tools to help reduce presenting symptoms and navigate future challenges.

My treatment methods

Person-centered (Rogerian)

As a therapist, my goal is to assist clients in reaching their full potential. During this journey we will strengthen our rapport with a solid foundation built on trust, compassion, and unconditional positive regard. Together we will encompass personal freedoms and strengths while striving for a life that is ultimately fulfilling and satisfying. We will dive into what is at the core of your symptoms, and together, we will explore options for managing them. What does it mean to you to live authentically? Let's work on this together!

EMDR

Eye movement, desensitization, and reprocessing is a powerful technique that aids clients with healing from a traumatic past. I use this technique in sessions for persons with everything from anxiety and depression to significant traumatic events. It is helpful in processing and letting go of incidents that may cause a person to get "stuck" in distressful memories.

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

I often view my clients through a cultural and environmental lens, thus respecting and celebrating our unique values and differences. We will explore options for personal growth that support and enhance these core values together.
