LMHC, 23 years of experience
I am a licensed mental health counselor and have been in this field for over 20 years. I have worked in all settings with various types of individuals who struggle with basic stress management to severe and persistent mental illness. I enjoy working with individuals and couples. I can assist in helping learn healthy communication skills, coping skills, boundaries, improve self-esteem and assertiveness.
In our first session together, you can expect for me to explore your past via a complete biopsychosocial assessment and get to know as much about you as possible. We will talk about your childhood experiences, upbringing, education, spirituality, identity, support system, financial situation, legal issues, medical diagnoses, medications, transportation and overall desired outcome by participating in therapy. We will also discuss therapeutic style that might be best for you.
My greatest strength is my ability to be direct in a gentle manner, offering support and encouragement and helping to normalize so much of what a person may be experiencing.
I love working with individuals and couples who may struggle with anger, anxiety, depression, mood instability, addictions, family issues, career concerns, ADHD, stress, self-esteem issues, etc!

Every session I have with Ms. Jacobs has left me feeling very empowered and good. I appreciate how direct she is regarding things and giving good advice in hard situations. I'm actually excited for therapy each time I have an appointment instead of dreading how I feel. The ideas she has given me for panic attacks/hard times has been extremely helpful. Just a 10/10 therapist in my books.
