Hello! I am Jenna. I am licensed in Colorado and Florida with 12 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, relationship issues, motivation, self esteem, and confidence, & depression. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. Taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage. I am here to support you in that process.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. I'll create a space where you feel comfortable and safe to share your thoughts and experiences. We'll discuss what brings you to therapy, your goals, and any specific concerns you have. I might ask about your background, current challenges, and what you hope to achieve through our work together. This initial session is also a chance for you to ask questions about the therapeutic process and share any preferences or expectations you have. It's a collaborative conversation where we start building a roadmap for our future sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My non-judgmental attitude creates a safe space for individuals to explore their thoughts and feelings without fear of criticism. This is invaluable, as it allows clients to be vulnerable and open up about their experiences without reservation. If a client is not going to be honest or become vulnerable in session, the likelihood of progress and change decreases immensely. Recognizing that one size does not fit all, I customize my approach based on the individual's background, personality, and specific challenges they face. I pride myself on being a wonderful listener and I will never interrupt a client unless it is therapeutically necessary.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In our sessions, we use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, or CBT, as a framework to understand and address the challenges you're facing. It's all about recognizing the link between your thoughts, feelings, and actions. We work together to identify and challenge any negative thought patterns that might be influencing how you feel and behave. By doing this, we can develop healthier, more balanced ways of thinking, which can lead to positive changes in your emotions and actions. It's a collaborative process where we explore and reshape your thought processes to improve your overall well-being.

Daialectical Behavior (DBT)

In our sessions, we incorporate Dialectical Behavior Therapy, or DBT, as a powerful tool to help you navigate and manage difficult emotions and behaviors. DBT involves a balance between accepting where you are right now and working towards positive change. We'll focus on building specific skills, like emotional regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, distress tolerance, and mindfulness. These skills are designed to empower you in handling life's challenges more effectively. Our work together is about creating a dialectic, finding a balance between acceptance and change, so you can build a more fulfilling and meaningful life.

Motivational Interviewing

In our therapy sessions, I integrate a technique called Motivational Interviewing, or MI, which is all about exploring and resolving any ambivalence you might have regarding the changes you want to make. Instead of imposing solutions, I work collaboratively with you, asking open-ended questions and actively listening to your thoughts and concerns. This approach helps us uncover your own motivations and reasons for change. By understanding and enhancing your intrinsic motivation, we can work together to set achievable goals and create a plan that feels right for you. It's a supportive and empowering process that respects your autonomy and helps you move toward positive change at your own pace.

Psychodynamic

In our sessions, I incorporate Psychodynamic Therapy, a method that delves into the deeper layers of your experiences and thoughts. We'll explore how your unconscious mind, shaped by past experiences and relationships, influences your current thoughts and behaviors. This approach is about gaining insight into the root causes of your challenges and understanding how patterns from the past might be impacting your present. Through open dialogue and exploration, we can uncover hidden motivations, address unresolved issues, and work towards a deeper understanding of yourself. It's a process that can lead to profound insights, personal growth, and positive changes in how you navigate your life.
