I have 6 years of experience in the community and 14 years in the military with mental health issues. What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first session is about you and I developing an understanding of trust and respect. You are looking for assistance and the most important step is building trust and rapport between me the therapist and you the client. The therapeutic relationship is the most important aspect for you to feel safe and secure in the process of mental health recovery, and that starts on day one.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest skill is the foundation is to understand my clients. 75% of what we say is nonverbal and I'd like to say I can hear 100%. I have the innate ability to understand both verbal and nonverbal cues which help me addressed decline in a more effective and efficient way.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a form of psychological treatment that has been demonstrated to be effective for a range of problems including depression, anxiety disorders, alcohol and drug use problems, marital problems, eating disorders, and severe mental illness. This therapist has been trained and using CBT since August of 2018.

Brainspotting

Brainspotting – the efficacy of a new therapy approach for the treatment of posttraumatic stress disorder in comparison to eye movement desensitization and reprocessing. Mediterranean Journal of Clinical Psychology. Participants experienced a reduction in PTSD, anxiety, and depression symptoms within a few sessions. Other benefits: Reduction in pain, Memories become less painful, Negative thought patterns are reduced, better sleep, Increased energy. The therapist has been certified as a clinician for over 5 years.

Family Therapy

Family therapy is a type of treatment designed to help with issues that specifically affect families' mental health and functioning. It can help individual family members build stronger relationships, improve communication, and manage conflicts within the family system. This clinician was trained at Jacksonville University and practiced Family therapy since August of 2018.

Christian Counseling

As a Christian I have extensive material to incorporate the Christian bible and teachings of Jesus the Christ into the counseling process for those who desire it. When requested the therapist will incorporate Bible lead inspiration and guidance into the therapy process. The therapist will use scripture and Biblical teachings as source material for therapy session.

Couples Counseling

Couples therapy explores current problems with the intent of resolving longstanding dysfunctional patterns. Couples counseling is short-term and often focuses on one matter only. Like other forms of talk therapy, couples therapy aims to relieve people’s distress and improve their functioning in an important sphere of life. This therapist has been seeing couples and families in therapy since August of 2018.
