I think that therapy doesn’t have to be complicated. As a client, you can expect to highlight your strengths, speak to your individual experience in a non-judgmental environment, receive unconditional support from someone you trust, and learn new ways to lessen your pain. I am trained in various traditional therapeutic interventions; I also have experience integrating additional concepts including self-esteem and compassion, healthy relationships, kink and poly-friendly, spirituality, and diet culture recovery / fat liberation. I'm happy to answer any questions you may have about starting therapy; I look forward to hearing from you! *Please note, I can only provide appointments on the hour.*
The initial session of therapy has three goals. The first goal is to make sure that I am a good fit for you as your therapist. When we first meet, I am happy to answer any questions you have about me as a therapist and about therapy itself. The second goal is to discuss what your needs are as a client: what would you like to accomplish or change through therapy? The third goal is to collaboratively establish a plan for how we will work together to achieve the changes you would like to make.
Along with my education and formal training, I inform my practice with my lived experiences as a queer, fat, neurodivergent, intersectional feminist. I am committed to creating a therapeutic space that is inclusive of all individuals.
People in alternative relationship structures, queer-identifying people, people in recovery from diet culture.
Trauma can affect so many areas of our lives. As your therapist, I keep in mind your past experiences and how those past traumas inform how you see the world and interact with others.
Building and maintaining relationships (romantic, platonic, familial) are crucial to having a rich and fulfilling life. I can teach you how to find and grow healthy relationships, with anyone in your life - including your relationship with yourself!
