I am a licensed clinical social worker based in the South Hills area of Pittsburgh PA. I believe that people have the capacity for healing and growth when given a safe, supportive space to explore their experiences and emotions. I have many years of experience, working with individuals with significant trauma histories, PTSD, depression, anxiety, and severe mental illness. I love working with individuals to help them achieve their best possible life.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our sessions, you can expect a warm, collaborative environment. I’ll ask questions that help you reflect more deeply, and together we will explore both current issues and past experiences that may be shaping your emotional world. I see myself as a guide and ally, helping you notice patterns, understand yourself more fully, and make choices that align with who you want to be. While I have a framework, I tailor my approach based on what you need – whether that’s more structured coping strategies, deeper trauma work, or simply a space to be heard without judgement.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Years of working with diverse individuals have refined my ability to quickly recognize underlying patterns and help clients name what may feel hard to articulate. I offer a calm, grounded presence that helps clients feel safe exploring the most vulnerable or painful parts of themselves. My approach is flexible and responsive. I draw from a wide range of evidence-based practices while always staying attuned to what works best for each individual. I know how to build a therapeutic relationship that feels authentic and reparative especially for those who have been hurt in relationships before. I’ve learned to trust the process of therapy – meeting clients where they are and allowing space for insight and change to emerge over time. I’m skilled for holding space for the unknown – where change often begins – and helping clients move through uncertainty with curiosity and compassion.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I enjoy working with a variety of populations and have experience working with children, adolescents, families, adults, and older adults. I work best with individuals who are struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, or the lingering effects of trauma. My ideal client is someone who may feel stuck or overwhelmed but is open to self-reflection and willing to explore their inner world...even if it feels unfamiliar or scary at first. Clients who appreciate a warm, thoughtful and collaborative space - where they can explore not just symptoms, but the deeper emotional patterns underneath - tend to thrive in my practice.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

We look at your thoughts and feelings and find healthy ways to accept those negative thoughts and restructure your thinking. I use mindfulness and a variety of exercises to increase your psychological flexibility. This therapy works well with anxiety, depression, OCD, stress and PTSD.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

This therapy has been effective for individuals with anxiety, depression, D/A issues, and severe mental illness. Psychological problems are often based on faulty or unhelpful thinking. Together, we will examine this thinking and find ways for you to change your thoughts and learn healthy ways to cope.

EMDR

EMDR (eye movement desensitization and re-processing) focuses on present concerns. EMDR processing helps you breakthrough the emotional blocks that are keeping you from living an adaptive, emotionally, healthy life. We use rapid sets of eye movements to help you update, disturbing experiences, much like what occurs when we sleep. This alternating process helps you update your memories to a healthier present perspective. Once the disturbing experiences have been updated we will work together to integrate these new insights and perspectives into your daily life.

Psychodynamic

Psychodynamic therapy is rooted in traditional psychoanalysis. Here we tend to focus on the roots of emotional issues that are usually found in childhood and early experiences with caregivers. This therapy works really well if you are looking to surface repressed emotions and if you feel chronically sad and lost in life. Together, I can help you become aware of your thought patterns. This therapy can help folks with depression, anxiety, mental disorders, and stress.
