Life's challenges don’t have to define us. I approach counseling as a collaborative partnership, working with you to identify and address what might be missing or burdensome in your life. My goal is to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you feel heard and understood. With over a decade of experience as a Licensed Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania, I offer telehealth/virtual sessions with immediate availability. My practice incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and mindfulness-based techniques, along with other evidence-based modalities, to enhance therapeutic outcomes. I value collaboration and transparency, fostering a strong therapeutic relationship to promote positive change and well-being. I value collaboration and transparency, fostering a strong therapeutic relationship to promote positive change, honesty, and well-being. We’ll balance laughter with navigating the more challenging aspects.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In your first session with me, you can expect an open and supportive environment where we begin to explore not only the reason you're seeking therapy but also a deeper understanding of your life, experiences, and goals. This is a time for me to learn more about you as a whole person—your background, relationships, strengths, and challenges. Building rapport and establishing a strong, trusting connection begins in the initial session, as it lays the foundation for our work together. We'll start to discuss what brought you to therapy, but we will also look at other aspects of your life to get a more complete picture. From there, I’ll begin formulating how I can best support you moving forward, while collaborating with you to set goals for our time together. The focus is on creating a safe space where you feel heard and understood.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strengths as a provider lie in my commitment to collaboration, transparency, and building a strong, trusting therapeutic relationship. I believe that real progress comes from working together as partners, with open communication and honesty at the forefront of our work. I aim to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to make meaningful changes. While we may explore difficult or challenging aspects of your life, I also balance this with moments of laughter and lightness, ensuring the process remains approachable and human. As a realist, I help you set achievable goals and focus on what is truly possible, providing guidance with compassion and practicality to support your well-being and growth.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a structured, goal-oriented approach that focuses on identifying and changing negative thought patterns and behaviors that contribute to emotional distress. In my practice, I work with clients to help them recognize and challenge unhelpful thoughts, develop healthier thinking patterns, and implement practical strategies to manage symptoms. This approach empowers clients to make lasting changes by addressing both the thoughts and actions that influence their mental well-being.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness-Based Therapy helps clients develop greater awareness of their thoughts, feelings, and physical sensations in the present moment, without judgment. In my practice, I guide clients in using mindfulness techniques—such as deep breathing, meditation, and body scanning—to reduce stress, increase emotional regulation, and enhance self-compassion. By cultivating mindfulness, clients can break free from automatic reactions and develop a more balanced and peaceful mindset, improving both mental and physical well-being.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a client-centered, goal-oriented approach that helps individuals explore and resolve ambivalence about making changes. In my practice, I use MI to help clients tap into their intrinsic motivation and strengthen their commitment to change. Through open-ended questions, reflective listening, and affirmations, I create a supportive environment where clients feel empowered to take action toward their goals, whether it's improving mental health, managing addictions, or making lifestyle changes. MI helps clients build confidence in their ability to make meaningful changes.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) is a practical, strengths-based approach that focuses on finding solutions rather than dwelling on problems. In my practice, I help clients identify their strengths, resources, and past successes to develop realistic, future-oriented goals. By asking questions that highlight what’s working, I guide clients to envision a preferred future and create actionable steps to achieve it. SFBT is a collaborative and time-limited approach, ideal for clients who are seeking quick, tangible improvements in their lives.

Psychoeducation

Psychoeducation involves providing clients with information about mental health, coping strategies, and the psychological processes affecting their well-being. In my practice, I use psychoeducation to help clients understand their symptoms, the underlying causes of their struggles, and effective ways to manage or overcome them. By educating clients about topics like stress, anxiety, depression, or trauma, I empower them with knowledge to make informed decisions, reduce self-blame, and enhance their ability to cope with challenges. This approach supports long-term growth and resilience.
