My roles have included case management, management, and professional counseling. The numerous professional opportunities I have experienced with various populations has allowed me to find a place to dedicate myself to a career of serving exceptional individuals and working with numerous health care providers in the community. My approach is holistic and refers to the whole-person rather than focusing on specific ailments, although topic specific symptoms will also be addressed and discussed as necessary.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, the focus will aim on keeping light conversation, collecting information, and allowing individuals an opportunity to decide if therapist is the right fit for them. This is a non-pressure, client-paced session to gain insight and learn about concerns that may be affecting client in day to day life.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Meeting individuals where they are at and engaging in client-paced counseling services. Remaining authentic and open while creating a safe environment for individuals to find a better version of themselves.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT treatment usually involves efforts to change thinking patterns relating to psychological concerns with respect to unhelpful cognitions and unhelpful behaviors. Therapist utilizes CBT to assist individuals with : -Learning to recognize one’s distortions in thinking that are creating problems, and then to reevaluate them in light of reality. -Gaining a better understanding of the behavior and motivation of others. -Using problem-solving skills to cope with difficult situations. -Learning to develop a greater sense of confidence in one’s own abilities.

Existential

Existential therapy focuses on the psycological discrepancies that occur when a client confronts the conflicts inherent in life. Therapist assists individual with focus on personal responsibility for making decisions, and the therapist may integrate some humanistic approaches and techniques. Existential therapy can focus on four key themes (pillars) - death, meaning, isolation and freedom

Humanistic

Humanistic therapy is a mental health approach that emphasizes the importance of being your true self in order to lead the most fulfilling life. It's based on the principle that everyone has their own unique way of looking at the world. This view can impact your choices and actions. Therapist works to recognize and uplift individual introspection and promote self-actualization and resilience utilizing congruence, unconditional positive regard (UPR) and accurate empathic understanding

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) is a short-term goal-focused evidence-based therapeutic approach, which incorporates positive psychology principles and practices, and which helps clients change by constructing solutions rather than focusing on problems. Therapist works to challenge individuals in a healthy, pro-social manner to assist clients with articulation regarding the details of their desired future and outcomes.

EMDR

Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is a mental health treatment technique. This method involves moving your eyes a specific way while you process traumatic memories. EMDR’s goal is to help you heal from trauma or other distressing life experiences. Compared to other therapy methods, EMDR is relatively new. The first clinical trial investigating EMDR was in 1989. Dozens of clinical trials since EMDR’s development show this technique is effective and can help a person faster than many other methods.
