Hello! I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor and have enjoyed being a practicing clinician for over 20 years. I've worked in both in-patient and out-patients settings. I've worked with persons struggling with chronic recurring symptoms, in need of medication management, as well as those who've found life transitions challenging and are in need of guidance. I've enjoyed working with teens, young adults, families in crisis, couples and individuals.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I'm told by my clients that I am a very warm and engaging person. It's important to me that my clients see me as a friend and advisor. I like to work in collaboration with my clients, and towards that end, I conduct an assessment my very 1st session and each following session until we, client and therapist, determine what issues would be best to focus on. I will be asking for feedback often as this helps us determine if we're a best fit for each other.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My clients appreciate that I'm a "real" person. I'm very honest and upfront with my clients. I treat them as I would wish to be treated.

My treatment methods

Imago Relationship Theory

I am a trained Imago Therapist and employ this model to help Couples "Get the love they want" by helping them understand how their Childhood Agenda , or what they didn't get enough of in their developmental years often creates challenges and power struggles between partners. With this model couples discover their unconscious marriage, learn to communicate using Couple's Dialogue, and explore in what ways they could be creating a "Silent Divorce". This is intensive therapy. Couple must commit to 12 sessions.

Transpersonal

I consider myself a spiritually enlightened person. I meditate daily and encourage my clients to practice meditation, breath work, and other mindfulness techniques to allow for a connection to their higher self. Transpersonal therapy is for those persons who are seeking to create meaning in their life by exploring or embracing their spiritual selves. In this style of therapy, clients will experience guided meditations, dream work, prayer and music therapy.

Family Therapy

I am an Ego-Systemic Family Therapy (ESFT) trained Family Therapist with 15 years experience working with children and teens experiencing relational challenges with-in the family. Additionally I've worked with Parents who are living with or supporting adult children, and Parents who are struggling to assist adult children who are experiencing mental health or behavioral challenges.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT interventions to help clients struggling with Anxiety, Depressions and PTSD symptoms. Clients explore automatic thoughts and dysfunctional schemas that maintain their symptoms and how to reframe their thoughts until they become less anxiety/depression triggering. PTSD clients learn EFT tapping, 9 Gamut release techniques and other mindfulness tools to minimize panic attacks and flashbacks.
