New clients continue care with this provider

Life can be hard at times and trying to figure out how to deal with difficult situations can become overwhelming. During difficult times I believe everyone can benefit from one-on-one support. You have already taken the first step in overcoming these difficult situations by looking for someone to talk to, so congratulations! I would like to take time to listen to you and help you to explore what is really creating a struggle for you. I look forward to meeting and working with you so you can reclaim living your life to the fullest.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first session is all about getting to know you and establishing a comfortable environment where you can feel safe and supported. I will create a welcoming space where you can speak openly about your concerns. I will explain how the counseling process works and answer any questions you may have about therapy. My goal is to ensure you feel informed and confident about the process. The first session is a time for us to start exploring the reasons you’ve come to therapy. I will listen actively, without judgment, and ask questions to better understand your concerns. During the first session, I will begin to assess how I can best support you. This is about understanding your unique situation, and it will guide the direction of our work together. We’ll set the tone for future sessions by talking about how therapy will progress. I’ll make sure you understand how I will work with you moving forward. I want you to feel comfortable and confident about the process, so I will leave time for any questions you might have about therapy or how I work. At the end of the session, we will outline the next steps and discuss any upcoming goals. My aim is to help you begin your journey toward healing, growth, and achieving the goals you’ve set for yourself.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC), and have been providing treatment and case management services to individuals who struggle with substance use disorders for over 15 years. Often individuals struggling with substance use disorders often experience anxiety, depression and other mental health concerns.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

As a professional counselor I am best suited to serve clients who are looking for a compassionate, supportive, and individualized approach to their mental health and well-being.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In my practice, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, or CBT, which is a well-established and effective approach for treating a variety of mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, stress, and relationship challenges. CBT is based on the idea that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are all connected, and that by changing how we think about things, we can change how we feel and behave.

Trauma Informed Care

The goal of trauma-informed care is to support your healing in a way that feels empowering, validating, and safe. By recognizing the lasting effects of trauma, we can help you understand and process your experiences without rushing or pushing you into areas you're not ready to explore. As we work together, my aim is to help you develop healthier coping skills, build resilience, and regain a sense of control over your life.

Motivational Interviewing

In practice, Motivational Interviewing is all about conversation. We’ll engage in open, reflective dialogues where I ask questions that invite you to explore your thoughts and feelings. I'll listen carefully to what you say and reflect back to you what I hear. This helps you clarify your values and goals, and it allows you to better understand your own motivations for change.

Strength-Based

I use a strength-based approach, which means I focus on your inherent strengths, resources, and abilities. Rather than focusing solely on problems or weaknesses, strength-based therapy emphasizes what’s already working in your life and how we can build on those strengths to help you face challenges and achieve your goals.

Mind-body approach

In my practice, I use a mind-body approach, which means I recognize the powerful connection between your mind (thoughts and emotions) and body (physical sensations and reactions). This approach is based on the understanding that your emotional experiences can affect your physical health, and vice versa. For example, stress, anxiety, or trauma can manifest physically in the body—such as through tension, pain, or fatigue. Similarly, physical well-being and self-care can have a positive impact on emotional health.
