My name is Lauren DeTurk. I got my LPC license in May 2014. However, I have been in the field for 25 years. My top 3 specialties are infertility, Postpartum Depression and Postpartum Anxiety, and Anxiety. Another specialty and passion I have is working with couples doing couple's therapy or marital & family therapy. I thrive working with couples and this population I am extremely passionate about. I also have extensive experience treating eating disorders (binge eating disorder, bulimia, anorexia, eating disorders unspecified) throughout the years. I have experience working as a Licensed Mental Health Practitioner on Suicide Watch at a prison, as an outpatient therapist, TSS, multisystemic therapist, family-based therapist, and county caseworker working with the mental health and intellectual and developmental disabilities population securing group home funding and other services working in West Chester, PA.
In our first session together, I will ask you questions regarding your mental health history and previous experience in therapy: what worked and what didn't work, so I can best help you.
I believe my biggest areas of strength are my empathic listening, years of experience working in the mental health field, unconditional positive regard for all of my clients, and eclectic approach to therapy. I have a 100% success rate for clients who have completed an intake with me scheduling a follow-up appointment.

I do work with those in recovery. *
I use CBT techniques to help client manage anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and stress to change the way they think so their feelings will be more positive and healthy.

Lauren seems very understanding, supportive and flexible. I was very concerned to finally seek the help of a therapist I don’t feel that way anymore as Lauren creates a comfortable atmosphere and is attentive to my goals.

Im so Glad that i match up well with Lauren DeTurk. She's very understandable person to what I say to her ( She's A Good Listener) . I say intelligent because thats what she is in her profession. I say open-minded because she allows me to talk about whatever is on my mind, but we always stay on track. Thank you Lauren.

We're actually coming from another couples therapist that is night and day from Lauren. The first 5 minutes I can tell that this therapist is going to definitely help bring our relationship on a better path. We are excited to have future sessions with Lauren. She seems very down to earth, intelligent, and a great listener. I can tell that she is confident and has techniques to help solve relationship issues.
