Whether you’re navigating new adulthood, freshly single, or seeking a new adventure, we can collaborate to help you overcome the challenges of embracing your new identity. I’m Kaylyn, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Pennsylvania with almost 10 years experience in the mental health field. In our therapy room, you can expect transparency and for us to be on equal ground. You’re the expert of your life–I’m here to provide support and present new solutions for the obstacles you encounter. I love watching my clients become proud of who they’ve become through our work together.
In our first session, you can expect a flexible space. After reviewing your background and discussing what brings you to therapy, we’ll set goals that feel right for you and what you’re looking to accomplish. If you’d like to re-direct at any point, I’m happy to discuss alternative approaches we can take to help you feel good about treatment.
I bring a strong background in person-centered, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). DBT is encouraged for those who have a difficult time with emotional regulation and is often used to treat depression, bipolar, and Borderline Personality Disorder. I am also thoughtful in how I engage with my clients and hope to build a strong rapport with all of them.
I enjoy working with clients between the ages of 18 and 60, especially those going through life transitions. I am also experienced in working with ADHD adults and clients with Borderline Personality Disorder.
I approach therapy from a very individualized approach, each person is different and therefore therapy should look different to fit each individual's needs. I utilize Person-Centered Therapy to make sure you are getting the tools you will find most beneficial, while also ensuring we are working effectively together. Person-centered Therapy can include the use of other therapy modalities to help get use to the identified goals you have set forth.
I utilize Trauma Informed Care to ensure my clients are able to engage in therapy and the environment in a safe and comfortable way as we work through the reasons they are seeking treatment. Trauma Informed Care allows me to provide you with a safe environment to process at a rate which feels comfortable for you.
I was trained in DBT in 2020 and have been practicing DBT since then. I utilize DBT to provide DBT-Informed care to my clients, teaching them useful tools for all aspects of their life. DBT can allow clients to improve their communication, improve their emotion regulation, and help them understand their own values and goals more clearly.
I utilize supportive therapy through providing a safe environment to work through the most important and pertinent things to you as an individual. Supportive therapy includes utilizing other treatment modalities along the way, but can also just be a place to discuss things and check-in with your own skills use.
