Hi :) I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Pennsylvania. Support is the word that comes to mind when I think of why I chose my profession. I want to offer client's a safe space to be themselves and share their experiences. Utilizing active listening and validation, I aim for clients to feel heard and understood. I currently work with adults wanting to learn how to manage anxiety and/or depression. Through a number of tools shared we will assess your need and collaborate on what best helps you feel more secure and content. I have experience working with clients that are experiencing stress related to self esteem, transition, or loss. Examples of common symptoms associated with these presenting issues include: sadness, racing thoughts, and lack of motivation. I provide space to process thoughts and feelings while providing tools to help manage through emotions.
Learning more about your presenting issue and the initiation of building our therapeutic rapport is what you can expect in our initial session. We will discuss your intake documents stating your background as well as my office policies. You will have the opportunity to ask questions and share your needs. After learning more details about your presenting issue we will create goals you aim to achieve during treatment.
I aim to create a safe space for my client by meeting them where they are and validating their thoughts. My goal is to create a strong therapeutic bond by offering a space for the client to be heard, focusing on their strengths, and collaborating on tools that are most helpful.
Are you currently experiencing stress as a result of a transition in life? A current college student or graduating soon? A young adult trying to determining what next steps are in life. An employee unsure if you are content with your current position, or if you would like to explore other options? Have you experienced a recent break up? Do you feel isolated and find it hard to make or keep friends? Are there days where it feels hard to complete tasks? Are you trying to manage through stress caused by day to day responsibilities. If you can relate to anything described I believe I have the skill and tools that can assist.
Supportive therapy aims to help people navigate their problems with comfort, compassion, and empathy. Issues like strong emotional distress can make it difficult for individuals to manage their everyday lives. A supportive therapist can offer support and comfort, as well as practical knowledge and tools.
