Hi! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Pennsylvania. I received my Masters degree from Cedar Crest College and I have been practicing for 6 years. I am passionate about helping you feel empowered and equipped to overcome life's challenges and transitions. Our ability to overcome adversity is often gauged by our willingness to ask for help when we need it.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In our first session, we'll focus on getting to know each other and begin the process of establishing trust. I also want to begin to understand what your needs are and what challenges you're facing. This will help us develop a unique and tailored plan to use in follow-up sessions. We'll continue to work on building trust in subsequent sessions so that you can feel safe in a non-judgmental and compassionate space.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I'm passionate about helping others and take pride in my willingness to meet others exactly where they are on their journey. In my experiences with children and families over the past 5 years, I have learned how to identify root causes of challenges and how to help make improvements over their ability to overcome challenges with an organized plan.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I love working with adolescents and adults seeking to improve their quality of life by making some changes. I am here to help. Do you ever feel burdened by life's challenges or are feeling hopeless-as if things won't change? I can help you work on life's challenges and barriers and help you learn new ways to cope and manage stress. There are times where I will help you feel heard, seen and validated and times for gentle challenging in order to empower you to overcome adversity. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, grief and loss, shame, self-criticism, and/or relational challenges, we can work together to make improvements for a healthier and more fulfilling life.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
In my work, person-centered theory guides the foundation of my therapeutic stance. I strive to create a relationship characterized by empathy, unconditional positive regard, and genuineness. I view these conditions not as techniques but as attitudes that help my clients feel safe, understood, and empowered to explore their inner experiences.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
When conceptualizing cases, I assess how my clients relate to their thoughts and emotions, especially through processes such as cognitive fusion, experiential avoidance, and disconnection from values. I pay particular attention to patterns that limit psychological flexibility, such as rigid rule-following, avoidance strategies, or entanglement with unhelpful beliefs.
Compassion Focused
I use a compassion-focused approach, which means I help you develop a kinder, more supportive relationship with yourself. Many people struggle with self-criticism, shame, or feeling not good enough, and compassion-focused therapy helps you understand where these feelings come from and how to relate to them in a healthier way.
Psychodynamic
I will often use a psychodynamic approach, which means we explore how your past experiences, relationships, and emotional patterns influence how you feel and behave today. The goal isn’t to dwell on the past, but to help you understand the deeper patterns that may be shaping your current life.
