Hello! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based in Pennsylvania. I hold a Master's degree in Community and Trauma Counseling from Thomas Jefferson University and am a Certified National Counselor (NCC). My professional experience spans from private practice to mental health outpatient settings, and, for the past two years, working in an inpatient substance use treatment facility, where I specialized in supporting individuals facing both mental health and substance use challenges. As a former Division 1 athlete and high school coach, I have a strong passion for working with athletes, helping them navigate the unique mental and emotional aspects of their athletic careers. Outside of my professional work, I enjoy playing sports, taking walks, spending quality time with family and friends, and learning new things.

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Entering therapy is a significant step, and it is essential for both the clinician and the client to feel a strong sense of compatibility and mutual rapport. During the initial session, we will take time to establish a connection, discuss your strengths and areas for growth, and outline your goals for therapy. These goals will serve as a roadmap, guiding your therapeutic journey and ensuring that each session is tailored to address your unique needs.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strength as a therapist lies in my ability to use compassion and empathy to support and empower clients in becoming the best version of themselves. I take a client-centered approach, meeting each individual where they are and working collaboratively to foster growth and positive change.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am passionate about working with individuals who acknowledge the desire for change but may lack the necessary tools, support, or confidence to initiate that transformation. Through my years of experience in counseling, I have observed that many people already possess the knowledge and skills required to succeed and enhance their well-being, yet often face challenges in determining where to begin. By utilizing a strengths-based approach, I am able to guide clients in uncovering their true potential, fostering empowerment, and cultivating a sense of self-efficacy.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is a structured, goal-oriented therapy that allows clients to help identify and challenge thought patterns and behaviors that contribute to emotional distress. I use CBT to assist clients in recognizing negative thought patterns, managing difficult emotions and learn healthier coping strategies. CBT is helpful for clients who are struggling with anxiety, stress, self-esteem, depression and life transitions.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

DBT is a specialized form of therapy that is designed to assist clients who have intense emotions and have difficulty managing them. DBT focuses on building emotional regulation skills, improving interpersonal relationships, fostering mindfulness and strengthening tolerance for distressing events and emotions. DBT is a great modality for individuals struggling with depression, bipolar, borderline personality disorder, substance use and self-harm.

Strength-Based

A strength-based approach focuses on the positive aspects of an individuals life as a way to help clients recognize their existing strengths. This frameworks can help to promote self-esteem and confidence, and can challenge negative self views or negative self-worth. I believe using a strengths-based approach can give the client confidence and motivation to achieve their goals while developing strategies and coping skills to move forward in their lives. I believe this approach works well with anyone struggle with a lack of self-confidence, anxiety, low self-esteem, depression and substance use.
