Contact me today for a free 20 minute consultation to see if we would be a good fit to work together. If not, I would be happy to help you find someone who is! If you do not see a day/time that works for you, let me know. I am happy to be flexible if my schedule allows for it. My schedule may not always be up to date during busy times as it changes every week. While I only conduct sessions from Monday to Thursday, I am happy to have a consultation call on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

Hey there! I'm Shirley.
We all struggle sometimes. You may need to make a change or a difficult decision. You may feel unsure of how to solve a problem. While family and friends may want to help, they often are unequipped to be truly helpful. Talking with someone unbiased and nonjudgmental can be most helpful when you feel lost or face barriers to achieving your hopes and dreams.

Many people turn to psychotherapy or counseling for help with anxiety, depression, trauma, and painful relationship patterns, or simply because they feel something is missing from life. At times, we may lack the words to describe our struggles or suffering. By gaining insight into past relationships and experiences, many people begin to make progress toward overcoming these difficulties, becoming more effective in both their work and their personal lives. Hi there, my name is Dr. Amera.
Are you overwhelmed? Stuck in a rut? Struggling to keep up with your relationships, work and health? Is it hard to be kind to yourself?
I am here with the sole purpose of helping you identify ways you can best manage anxiety and avoid burnout. Together, we can identify what's not working and get you back to balance. We'll use a whole self approach, addressing the needs of your mind, body and spirit. I believe mindfulness, self-care and yoga are effective tools to help you develop a stronger relationship with yourself.
Whether you're dealing with overwhelm, relationship issues or cycles of anxiety and depression, I'm here to help. Seeking therapy can feel scary but you're making the right choice. You deserve a safe space to heal and grow. In our sessions together, I'll meet you with compassion and evidence-based techniques so you can overcome the hangups and habits holding you back. Let's work together!
I’m excited to get to know you better! In the meantime, here’s a little about me, and my professional experience and training.
I think one of the biggest challenges, after taking that first brave step of reaching out, is to find a good therapist that you connect with. In my twenty-plus years of experience, the therapeutic relationship is the principal reason that therapy “works” or “doesn’t work.”
My therapeutic style focuses on first developing a strong therapeutic alliance in which you feel emotionally safe and heard without judgment. You’ve already come to the conclusion that something in your life is not working, and my task is to help you to identify the ways in which you’d like things to be different. From there, together we can create realistic, achievable goals that support those changes and move you toward the life that you deserve.
I have a large repertoire of strategies and interventions, which include cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness practices, and motivational interviewing. Producing insights, strategies, and tools that you can use immediately is the goal of every interaction I have with you.
I have extensive experience in trauma, anxiety, relationship issues (adult as well as parent-child), substance abuse, and co-occurring disorders. I have found that many people experiencing trauma or anxiety are helped by a combination of mindfulness and cognitive behavioral therapy. This teaches them how to tolerate their intense feelings and how to reframe unhelpful thought patterns that keep them stuck.
On a personal note, I have been a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist since 1997 and have worked with a variety of clients in many different settings.
When I’m not helping people, I can usually be found on the golf course or outdoors. I look forward to helping you to make the changes you desire.

I create a space where women feel safe to unpack their pain, process life’s challenges, and reconnect with their inner strength. My goal is to help you move from surviving to thriving—on your terms.
Hi there, my name’s Ephraim Tokar. I'm a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with 20+ years of experience. I have lived a long and colorful life. Like everyone else, I've made good and bad choices and learned from each. I have 22+ years experience in the mental health and substance abuse treatment field. I DO NOT JUDGE, AT ALL, PERIOD. I can be both blunt and gentle as appropriate. My role is to offer another perspective, a way to see life more fully and function better, no more, no less. I don't pretend to have all the answers but only one slice of wisdom. I just share what can help someone. Some people are not yet ready to be helped. Yet for those who are feeling lost on life's journey and are willing to listen and learn, I'm here to assist. My life work can be summed up in three words, "offering people hope. "
