Hello there! I am a licensed mental health therapist who has experience working with individuals and families from many different walks of life. Growing up as a young black queer man, I have experienced my own personal difficulties with mental health. I have faced the stigma of mental health issues that leads many to struggle in silence. I have experienced a lack of available resources to truly get the support I felt I needed. I strive to create a space for clients to feel heard and validated in their experience. I collaborate with clients to determine their goals for treatment and provide holistic, compassionate, and client-centered care. Many of us struggle in silence to overcome the challenges we face, but you no longer have to face that battle alone. While the first step is acknowledging the change you need, it takes courage to recognize you need some guidance. It takes even more courage to initiate those first steps towards improving your life.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Prepare to meet a therapist who is open-minded, compassionate, and collaborative. My goal is to ensure you get the most out of our time together. The first session is mainly reviewing your intake paperwork, understanding what brings you to therapy, and what to expect in our time spent together. We will also set goals for what you would like to achieve in therapy. This is also an opportunity for you to ask any questions you might have as well.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

As a mental health provider, I meet each person where they are at in their own personal journey. I possess strong empathy, active listening skills, clear communication skills, and have the ability to foster a safe and trusting relationship that allows clients to explore their thoughts and feelings in a genuine and open way. I can hold space for difficult moments, be an engaged listener, and offer guidance when you are unsure how to move forward.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am a mental health therapist passionate about serving individual clients in need. I empower my clients battling issues related to anxiety-related disorders, depression and mood disorders, trauma and PTSD, poor emotional regulation, difficulties with stress, anger management, relationship problems, and many more.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) helps potential clients struggling with mental health issues by teaching them to identify and challenge negative thought patterns and unhelpful behaviors that contribute to their distress. Through structured techniques like cognitive restructuring and exposure therapy, clients learn to replace harmful thoughts with more balanced ones and gradually face feared situations. This approach empowers individuals to develop healthier coping strategies, improve emotional regulation, and reduce symptoms of anxiety, depression, and other mental health challenges.

Psychodynamic

As your therapist, I will help you explore how unconscious thoughts and early life experiences shape your current emotions, behaviors, and relationships. I encourage open-ended reflection on feelings, memories, and recurring patterns, while paying attention to themes that emerge in how you relate to them (often called transference). By bringing these underlying conflicts and patterns into awareness, I will help you gradually understand and work through them, leading to more flexible, self-aware, and intentional ways of thinking and relating to others.

Trauma Informed Care

In trauma-informed care, a therapist approaches treatment with an understanding of how past trauma can shape a person’s emotions, behavior, and sense of safety, integrating knowledge about conditions like Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. Rather than focusing only on symptoms, I will prioritize creating a safe, predictable, and collaborative environment, giving you control over the pace and direction of therapy. I am careful to avoid re-triggering distress, help you build emotional regulation and coping skills, and support you in processing experiences in a way that feels manageable, with the goal of restoring a sense of empowerment and stability.
