I’m a licensed clinical social worker practicing in Houston, Texas with extensive experience in mental health treatment across diverse populations, especially ethnicity, gender, age, religious, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status. My journey in the mental health field began during my undergraduate studies, where I first became involved in victim advocacy. This experience deepened my understanding of social dynamics, (in)justice and human behavior, leading to dual bachelor’s degrees in Sociology and Women’s Studies.
While pursuing my graduate degree, I worked at the National Domestic Violence Hotline, further honing my skills in crisis intervention and critical thinking/problem-solving . After earning a Master of Science in Social Work from The University of Texas at Austin, I completed a post-graduate fellowship focused on psychiatric rehabilitation of veterans with severe mental illness.
I further advanced my clinical skills when joining The Menninger Clinic staff, where I spent five years specializing in the treatment of business professionals facing mental health crises, young adults navigating the transition into adulthood, and clients experiencing severe mental health challenges, including suicidal ideation.
During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, after recognizing the urgent need for increased access to mental health care I established my private practice, Therapy by Ivy, PLLC. Since then I have offered individual telehealth sessions to adult clients seeking to improve their mental health and enhance their lives. In 2023, I expanded my practice to include in-person sessions while continuing to provide telehealth sessions. Based in the Houston Heights area, I am proud to offer flexible session options, accept most major insurance plans, and self-pay sliding fee for the uninsured or underinsured.

Hi, I’m Ayesha—a licensed professional counselor based in Dallas, Texas. I offer virtual therapy across the state, supporting adult individuals through life’s challenges. If you're feeling overwhelmed by low moods, intrusive thoughts, or body image distress, you’re not alone. These experiences can often lead to anxiety, depression, stress, and emotional fatigue.
Many people suffer in silence, avoiding the deeper work around thought patterns—yet unaddressed, these patterns can fuel emotions like guilt, shame, and unworthiness, reinforcing a cycle that feels hard to break. Hi! My name is Mira and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas. I graduated with a Masters of Arts in Clinical Mental Health from Midwestern State University. I also graduated from the University of Texas with a Bachelors of Arts in Human Development and Family Sciences and a concentration on Families and Personal Relationships. As a child of immigrant parents, I understand the complexities of inter-generational trauma. The weight of cultural and societal expectations can take a toll on one’s mental health. Family and religious pressure can also have a negative effect on our own identity and self-perception. I believe that no matter what our past has given us or what our future holds, we are capable of working through our life challenges. My goal as a therapist is to help my clients embrace their authentic self and discover new paths of healing and growth.

My years in the military and emergency response taught me how resilient people can be, even in their darkest moments. I help clients process what they've been through and reconnect with a sense of meaning and control in their lives. Healing isn’t a straight line—but you don’t have to walk it alone.
Thank you for taking the first step of courage and making yourself a priority today. Opening yourself up and being vulnerable can be a tremendous step to your healing process. Although the first steps can be overwhelming, I can walk with you and help guide you on the journey of healing and peace. I will always provide a safe space of acceptance and non-judgement for you to share your emotional pain, grow to love and be kind to yourself, and find the peace you deserve to heal. Remember that you are worthy and deserving of being free of the emotional pain you are experiencing. Be kind to yourself.

I believe that therapy is a collaborative process, one that empowers you to understand yourself more deeply, heal from past experiences, and move toward the life you want to create.
Throughout my career, I’ve worked with people facing a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, grief, relationship struggles, parenting stress, and life transitions. What unites my work across all of these experiences is a belief in the incredible capacity of human beings to adapt, grow, and thrive, even in the face of pain. My therapeutic style is warm, relational, and strengths-based. I focus on helping clients uncover the inner resources and resilience they already possess, while offering tools and insights to support meaningful change. I tailor each session to your unique needs and goals, drawing from evidence-based approaches that promote both healing and lasting growth. I’m here to support you. Together, we’ll work to understand your experiences, strengthen your coping strategies, and create positive shifts, both within yourself and in your relationships. Therapy is an opportunity for self-discovery, healing, and empowerment. My hope is that, through our work together, you’ll find greater balance, renewed purpose, and a deeper sense of peace in your life.

I have a B.A. from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City and obtained my MSW from the University of California, Los Angeles.
