My journey into mental healthcare is deeply personal and rooted in both lived experience and resilience. I was drawn to this field through many of the challenges I have faced and overcome throughout my own life. One of the most transformative moments in my journey occurred after I acquired a disability, an experience that completely shifted my perspective on healing, vulnerability, and emotional wellness. My personal experiences allow me to approach therapy with authenticity, compassion, and a deeper level of connection. I strive to create a therapeutic space where clients feel safe enough to be honest, explore their emotions without judgment, and move toward healing at their own pace. Those experiences ultimately shaped not only my career path, but also the type of therapist I strive to be, which is someone who leads with empathy, values genuine human connection, and understands that healing often begins when people feel supported, empowered, and no longer alone in what they are carrying.

I genuinely love the work I do and believe there is something powerful about having a space where you can feel understood, work through what’s weighing on you, and begin making changes that feel meaningful in your life. At Refined Mind Psychotherapy, I support individuals who want help overcoming anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, and major life transitions, as well as those simply looking for greater self-awareness, personal growth, or a place to work through life as it unfolds. I also enjoy working with high-performing individuals and professionals, veterans and military families, parents, and couples navigating the demands of their roles, relationships, and responsibilities. Do you feel like you've lost your way, your purpose and identity, or just need to get back on track? Hello! My name is Erie, and I'd love to help you. Social workers typically have an interesting life story and personal experiences with tragedy that tug at our heartstrings. I am no different. At times, I wonder "how is it that I have survived these mountains and valleys?" Despite personal tragedy, loss, and despair, influential people have served as beacons of hope throughout the years in my life. Along with my re-creation of self through school, internships, and certifications, I have learned one basic human tenant that would be my guiding light through the most challenging of times: people need people. I realize that this sounds a bit rudimentary, but this is the cornerstone of social work and the secret to my success in beating the statistical odds that accompany a survivor of childhood abuse, drug addiction and alcoholism, military combat trauma, and the loss of a child. So, the question stands: why am I here and what do I want? I simply want to pay it forward as many have done for me. I would have never expected to be where I am or doing what I'm doing. I personally believe that there is hope and light in the most desperate, dark places and recesses of the human soul. For that reason, I bet on the underdog, society's undeserving, and those with whom all other plans have failed. I find that my reward and inner satisfaction comes with doing for others when all else has failed and all others have given up. For this reason, I will keep doing for others, because they are worth it.

You are more than the struggles that brought you here. I help adults who are struggling with OCD, trauma, anxiety, depression, and major life challenges find relief while building lives that feel more meaningful and connected. Many of the people I work with feel stuck in patterns of fear, overwhelm, or disconnection—from themselves, the people they care about, or the life they want to be living. I believe meaningful healing is about more than reducing symptoms. It is also about helping you feel known, supported, and better able to connect with yourself and others. My approach combines warmth and compassion with evidence-based care, so therapy is both a place where you can feel genuinely understood and a place where meaningful change can happen. I use research-supported approaches including Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and systemic therapy. Treatment is tailored to your individual experiences, needs, and goals rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach. I specialize in OCD and trauma and also work with anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, grief, and life transitions. While these struggles may be part of your story, they do not define who you are. Together, we will work toward reducing the symptoms that are getting in your way while also strengthening relationships, clarifying what matters to you, building resilience, and helping you create a life that feels more connected and meaningful.

Hello Friend! Welcome to my practice, Pragmatic Solutions Therapy, PLLC! I am an experienced psychotherapist with over 20 years. I've worked in private practice and in the clinical hospital setting and now own my own thriving practice. I have passion, dedication and ethical standards I uphold with every client. My basic mantra in life is simple: Drop the baggage and take the value. Step out of the box and if you can't change the problem, then change the way you see it with a different perspective. Everyone at one point or another in life may experience a host of unbearable stressors which may leave one feeling stressed or 'out of sorts'. We may even describe that feeling as 'lost in a web of frustration', or even anxiousness, fatigue, sadness; as if our unique threshold is completely depleted. Feeling anxious is normal. Feeling stressed is actually a sense of determination to gain back control, though, with temporary tiredness. Anxiousness is innate in all of us. What's not healthy is when stressors cross the threshold to what feels comfortable, interrupts our daily habits/responsibilities to 'fix things' and leaves us in solitude. I’ll help you navigate the web of confusion to find empowerment. My journey began as a young child whose home was a host of struggles. I have personal insight into what we all experience. Inspired by a helper, I became a psychotherapist, worked in clinical setting, garnered a vast amount of knowledge which helps me to specialize using various modalities of treatment. As a psychotherapist, I hold a high standard for myself and clients, which includes helping those dealing w/depression, grief, anxiety, relationship issues, trauma, chronic health and other issues. Together, we'll identify what's not working, find solutions you may use to form goals without rescripting your life. Respectfully, Monica Pina

I respect my client's opinions on their treatment and work closely with them in treatment planning. I love it when clients share resources with me that have helped them outside of sessions, whether that be podcasts, books, etc. I work to incorporate these things into treatment. Frequently asked questions

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in Texas. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Texas from Houston to Austin! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Texas.

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
