I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Alexandria, Louisiana, with licenses in both Texas and Louisiana. My journey in counseling began in 2007 in administration at a chemical dependency organization, where I first saw the profound impact of professional support on individuals facing addiction. Inspired to help others in a more direct capacity, I returned to school and earned my Bachelor's in Social Work in 2011, followed by a Master's in Social Work in 2013. As a Licensed Addiction Counselor and LCSW, I bring over a decade of experience in helping individuals navigate life’s challenges, including addiction, depression, anxiety, and stress. My approach is grounded in empathy and empowerment, guiding clients toward positive transformation and emotional well-being.
As a therapist, I utilize Solution Focused therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to bring clients through a rewarding journey on their way to wellness. I am not only a skilled clinician, but is also adept at treatment plans, individual, family and group therapy, crisis intervention, case management and consult work.
As a therapist, my greatest strengths lie in my deep understanding of life's inevitable changes and my ability to provide compassionate support through them. I am skilled at helping clients navigate both minor and overwhelming transitions, guiding them through challenges with empathy and expertise. My approach is rooted in **restoring hope**, **building inner strength**, and empowering clients to believe in themselves again. I focus on **growth and transformation**, helping individuals understand that even during difficult times, positive change is possible, one step at a time. At the core of my work is a commitment to **emotional and mental well-being**, providing quality counseling that prioritizes the unique needs of each individual.
As a therapist using Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), my role is to help clients identify their strengths, resources, and potential solutions to their current challenges, rather than focusing on the problem or its origins. SFBT is a future-focused, goal-directed approach that is typically shorter-term, aiming to create meaningful change in a brief amount of time. My primary focus is on what is working in the client's life, helping them leverage these strengths to create solutions and build confidence in their ability to overcome difficulties.
As a therapist using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), my role is to help clients identify and change unhelpful thought patterns, behaviors, and emotions that contribute to their distress.
I was recently trained in EMDR Therapy in July 2022. As a therapist trained in EMDR, my role is to help clients process and heal from trauma or distressing memories in a way that reduces their emotional charge and allows them to integrate these experiences in a more adaptive, healthier way.
As a therapist using supportive treatment modalities, my role is to create a safe and compassionate space where my clients feel comfortable expressing themselves without fear of judgment. I aim to provide emotional support by actively listening to their concerns and validating their experiences. My primary focus is not to fix or solve their problems, but rather to help them feel understood and empowered to explore their own feelings and strengths.
My role is to guide my clients through a structured, evidence-based process that helps them understand and process the emotional and psychological impact of trauma.
