Emotional issues were either ignored or swept under the rug. I was taught growing up that it wasn't normal to want to talk about my feelings and showing any type of emotion was a sign of weakness. Because of my upbringing, my hope as a therapist is not only to help end the stigma associated with mental illness but also help normalize it. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Texas, Louisiana, and New Mexico. I also have a Ph.D. in Counseling. I have years of experience as a social worker, working with adults, couples, and families.
