New to Grow
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and began my career in the field as a school counselor, where I developed a strong foundation in supporting individuals through a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and relational challenges. Over time, my work has grown to focus on helping adults navigate anxiety, depression, relationship stress, life transitions, and patterns that may feel overwhelming or difficult to change. My approach to therapy is collaborative, supportive, and grounded in evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness-based strategies, and Motivational Interviewing. I tailor treatment to each person’s unique needs, helping clients build practical skills while also gaining deeper insight into their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. I strive to create a safe, respectful, and nonjudgmental space where you can show up as you are. Whether you are feeling stuck, seeking clarity, or wanting to make meaningful changes in your life, my goal is to walk alongside you at your pace and support you in building greater balance, confidence, and emotional well-being.
Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin understanding what brings you to therapy. We’ll talk about your current concerns, what you’ve been experiencing, and what you hope to gain from counseling. There is no expectation to share everything at once—just what feels comfortable for you. I may ask questions about your history, current stressors, relationships, and overall well-being to help me better understand your situation and how to best support you. We will also discuss your goals for therapy and what you would like to see change or improve over time. The first session is also a chance for you to ask questions about the therapy process, my approach, and what working together will look like. My priority is to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you can feel comfortable moving at your own pace.
What sets my work apart is my ability to blend warmth, authenticity, and practical, evidence-based approaches in a way that is tailored to each individual client. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. Instead, I meet you where you are and adapt my methods to fit your unique needs, goals, and comfort level. My background in the field gives me a strong foundation in understanding human behavior across different stages of life, and I bring that experience into my work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and life transitions. I integrate approaches such as CBT, DBT, mindfulness-based practices, and motivational interviewing to provide both insight and actionable tools that clients can use in their daily lives. Clients often appreciate that I balance support with structure—offering a space that is both compassionate and goal-oriented. My focus is not only on helping you feel better, but also on helping you build lasting skills, increased self-awareness, and confidence in your ability to manage life’s challenges.
I am best positioned to work with individuals who are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or navigating challenges related to anxiety, mood concerns, relationship stress, and life transitions. Many of the clients I support are seeking practical tools to better manage their emotions, improve communication, and develop healthier patterns in their daily lives and relationships. I work well with clients who are open to self-exploration and interested in understanding how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected. You don’t have to have everything figured out—just a willingness to reflect, learn new skills, and consider different perspectives. I also support individuals who may feel ambivalent about change or unsure of where to start, helping them clarify their goals and build motivation at a pace that feels manageable. My approach is especially helpful for those who want a balance of insight and action—gaining a deeper understanding of themselves while also learning practical, evidence-based strategies they can apply in real-life situations. Whether your goal is to reduce anxiety, improve emotional regulation, strengthen relationships, or feel more grounded and confident, I aim to provide a supportive space where you can build lasting skills and meaningful change.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as a structured, practical approach to help you better understand the connection between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. In our work together, we’ll explore how certain patterns of thinking may be contributing to distress, and identify ways to shift those patterns into more balanced, helpful perspectives.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I use Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) as a skills-based approach to help you manage intense emotions, improve relationships, and build a greater sense of stability and balance in your life. DBT focuses on the idea that two things can be true at once—we can accept ourselves as we are while also working toward meaningful change.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
I incorporate mindfulness-based practices into therapy to help you develop greater awareness of your thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations in the present moment. Rather than trying to eliminate difficult feelings, mindfulness focuses on changing your relationship with them—learning to observe experiences with openness, curiosity, and without immediate judgment.
Motivational Interviewing
I use Motivational Interviewing (MI) as a collaborative, client-centered approach to help you explore and strengthen your own motivation for change. Rather than telling you what to do, I work alongside you to better understand your goals, values, and any mixed feelings you may have about making changes in your life.
