New to Grow
I have been a Licensed Marriage and Family therapist and Licensed Professional Counselor for over a decade and feel honored to walk with people through some of the hardest times of their life, or to help people unpack pains they have held for potentially decades. I specialize in relationship issues, trauma and PTSD, and Pregnancy and Post Partum mental health, as well as anxiety, depression, life changes, and stress.
We will spend our first session discussing what has brought you to therapy and you will have an opportunity to ask any questions you may have about the process. We will also discuss your goals for therapy.
I have received the feedback that I am warm and accepting and easy to talk to and that help my clients to feel seen, heard, and understood. I tailor my sessions to the client (or clients) in front of me and know that no two people’s lives or journeys are the same.
I specialize in relationship issues, Trauma, and pregnancy and postpartum mental health. My ideal client is interested in gaining insight into their thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a safe and supportive environment. My ideal client is motivated to feel empowered to make changes in their own life and in the lives of those close to them and those that rely on them.
I am mindful of the ways our traumas and past experiences impact our experiences and the lens with which we see the world in the present.
Most people tend to have an easier time having compassion for others than they do for themselves. I work with clients to improve their level of compassion for themselves along with having a greater compassion for others. Move from being your own worst enemy to being able to treat yourself like you would treat someone else who was struggling.
In our busy and chaotic lives it can be easy to get lost in everything that's going wrong, and even fixate on what has happened in the past, or worry about the future. In doing this we miss what is happening in the present moment. Mindfulness helps to connect with what you're thinking and feeling and experiencing in the present moment. I help clients to identify this in session as well as apply it to their day to day lives.
I help clients to better understand their emotions by identifying where they come from and what they choose to do when certain emotions are experienced. Often times people fall into certain patterns both with themselves and their relationships others, and I help clients to identify what this looks and feels like to them while finding paths to create healthier patterns. This works well with people who have experienced trauma as well as people who have not.
Grief, whether it be the loss of a person by death, or the loss of a relationship, job, or even vision of your life, can be very complex and its an honor to walk through those complexities and to help clients identify and process all of the thoughts, feelings, and experiences related to their grieving process. Grief is not linear and I meet clients where they are in their grieving process.
