Greetings! I'm Zandra. I’m a licensed professional counselor in Texas, specializing in anxiety, depression, and life transitions. Implementing therapy into your journey can feel overwhelming and or uncomfortable, but it’s also a powerful step toward self-discovery and growth. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you can explore your thoughts, build on your strengths, and work toward meaningful change. I believe that everyone has the ability to grow, heal, gain clarity and thrive, and I’m here to help you navigate that journey.
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, discuss confidentiality and then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored treatment plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
My focus is on exploring my clients' experiences and emotions with kindness and curiosity while helping them challenge and transform; unhelpful patterns, beliefs and or behaviors that no longer serve them.
A lot of my training and focus revolves around client-centered approaches... that means meeting clients where they are and practicing unconditional positive regard.
Cognitive behavioral therapy can be used to treat a wide range of issues. CBT is useful to address emotional challenges, manage symptoms of mental illness and help prevent a relapse of mental illness symptoms.
Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) is a modified type of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). The main goal of DBT is to teach people how to be present in the moment, develop healthy ways to cope with stress, regulate their emotions, and improve their relationships with others.
Motivational Interviewing is a counseling method that I find to be beneficial with encouraging client’s to become an active participant in the change process by evoking their intrinsic motivations for change and helping client’s resolve ambivalent feelings about the change process.
