Hello and welcome! My name is Deandra, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Texas and a faith-based therapist dedicated to helping individuals navigate life’s challenges with compassion, understanding, and hope. Life can change in an instant. One moment everything feels familiar, and the next, you're facing challenges you never expected. I understand that reality personally. At 31 years old, I was diagnosed with breast cancer, an experience that strengthened my faith, resilience, and perspective on overcoming adversity. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, stress, relationship concerns, life transitions, self-esteem, or feeling overwhelmed by life's demands, you don't have to navigate it alone. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you can process challenges, build healthy coping skills, and move toward meaningful growth. If you're ready to begin your healing journey, I would be honored to walk alongside you. Together, we can work toward healing, growth, and thriving.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin building a comfortable therapeutic relationship. We'll discuss what has brought you to therapy at this time, explore your goals for counseling, and review what you can expect from our work together moving forward. We'll also talk about the importance of self-care and identify ways to support your overall well-being. My goal is to create a welcoming, relaxed environment where you feel comfortable being yourself. Feel free to bring a snack, meal, or non-alcoholic beverage to session if that helps you feel more at ease. While therapy can involve discussing difficult topics, there may also be moments of laughter and lightheartedness along the way. I strive to provide a space that is genuine, relatable, and free of judgment, where you feel supported as you work toward healing and growth.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My approach is tailored to your needs. Sometimes, that means sitting quietly and holding space while you process your emotions. Other times, it may involve gently challenging unhelpful thoughts, patterns, or beliefs by asking thoughtful questions that encourage self-reflection and help you explore different perspectives. At times, I may draw from my own life experiences when appropriate to help normalize challenges, provide perspective, or help you feel less alone in what you're facing. My goal is to support, encourage, and empower you while helping you gain insight, build coping skills, and create meaningful change in your life. Together, we'll work at a pace that feels comfortable for you while remaining focused on your goals for therapy.

My treatment methods

Christian Counseling

I use Christian counseling by combining evidence-based therapy with Christian principles for clients who desire a faith-centered approach. This may include exploring how faith impacts their experiences, utilizing biblical wisdom, and incorporating prayer when appropriate to support healing and personal growth.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns that may be contributing to emotional distress or unhealthy behaviors.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I use DBT to help clients develop practical skills for emotion regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, improving relationships, and healthy communication. DBT focuses on balancing acceptance and change.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I use SFBT to help clients focus on their strengths, identify solutions, and take practical steps toward their goals. This approach focus on achievable goals rather than remaining focused on problems, emphasizes progress, resilience, and creating positive change by building on what is already working.
