What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Introduction and Building Rapport: The therapist will start by introducing themselves and explaining the therapeutic process. This helps establish a sense of trust and comfort, which is essential for effective therapy. Discussion of Goals and Expectations: You'll have the opportunity to share what brings you to therapy, your goals, and what you hope to achieve. The therapist will ask questions to better understand your concerns, challenges, and what you're hoping to work on. Gathering Background Information: The therapist will likely ask questions about your personal history, including past experiences, relationships, and any relevant medical or mental health history. This helps the therapist understand the bigger picture and tailor the sessions to your needs. Explanation of Therapeutic Approach: The therapist will discuss the treatment methods and approaches they use (such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, or others) and how they might be helpful in addressing your concerns. You’ll also have the chance to ask questions about the process. Setting Boundaries and Confidentiality: The therapist will explain confidentiality rules and the boundaries of therapy, ensuring that you understand how your personal information will be kept private. First Steps or Homework: Depending on the therapist's style and your needs, they may suggest an initial focus for future sessions or provide some simple exercises or "homework" to help you begin your therapeutic journey.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is a widely-used, evidence-based treatment method that focuses on helping individuals identify and change negative patterns of thinking, behavior, and emotional responses. It is especially effective for a wide range of mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, and many others. CBT is based on the idea that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected, and by changing unhelpful or distorted thoughts, we can positively affect our emotions and actions. Christian Counseling

In Christian counseling I integrates principles of Christian faith and biblical teachings with therapeutic practices to help individuals address emotional, psychological, and spiritual challenges. The focus of Christian counseling is on healing the whole person—body, mind, and spirit—by integrating faith, prayer, and Christian values with professional therapeutic techniques. It offers a unique approach for individuals who seek guidance that aligns with their Christian beliefs.

Couples Counseling

With couple's counseling I to help partners improve their relationship, communicate better, and resolve conflicts. Couples counseling can be especially beneficial when couples face issues such as poor communication, intimacy problems, trust issues, or unresolved conflicts. A treatment plan in couples counseling typically involves an assessment of the couple’s relationship, setting mutual goals, identifying patterns of behavior or communication that contribute to the issues, and developing strategies to promote healthier interaction.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I used DBT for a range of other mental health issues, including depression, anxiety disorders, eating disorders, and substance use disorders. DBT emphasizes the development of mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. It’s particularly helpful for people who experience intense emotions, difficulty managing those emotions, and self-destructive behaviors.

Transpersonal

With Transpersonal I integrate spiritual or transcendent aspects of human experience with psychological understanding and healing. It draws on principles from humanistic psychology, existentialism, and Eastern spiritual practices such as meditation, mindfulness, and contemplative traditions. Transpersonal therapy focuses not just on resolving mental health symptoms but also on fostering personal growth, self-awareness, and a deeper sense of connection to oneself, others, and the universe.
