I’m a licensed clinical social worker practicing in Houston, Texas with extensive experience in mental health treatment across diverse populations, especially ethnicity, gender, age, religious, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status. My journey in the mental health field began during my undergraduate studies, where I first became involved in victim advocacy. This experience deepened my understanding of social dynamics, (in)justice and human behavior, leading to dual bachelor’s degrees in Sociology and Women’s Studies. While pursuing my graduate degree, I worked at the National Domestic Violence Hotline, further honing my skills in crisis intervention and critical thinking/problem-solving . After earning a Master of Science in Social Work from The University of Texas at Austin, I completed a post-graduate fellowship focused on psychiatric rehabilitation of veterans with severe mental illness. I further advanced my clinical skills when joining The Menninger Clinic staff, where I spent five years specializing in the treatment of business professionals facing mental health crises, young adults navigating the transition into adulthood, and clients experiencing severe mental health challenges, including suicidal ideation. During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, after recognizing the urgent need for increased access to mental health care I established my private practice, Therapy by Ivy, PLLC. Since then I have offered individual telehealth sessions to adult clients seeking to improve their mental health and enhance their lives. In 2023, I expanded my practice to include in-person sessions while continuing to provide telehealth sessions. Based in the Houston Heights area, I am proud to offer flexible session options, accept most major insurance plans, and self-pay sliding fee for the uninsured or underinsured.

Hello! I am Amanda, counselor of 17 years, wife of 19 years, and mother for 12 years and counting. I have been a resident of the North Austin area for the last five years and am a Texas native, though I did spend some time growing up in the beautiful mountains of Colorado. I am active in my son’s school, my church and my community which I am happy to call home. I have worked in domestic violence shelters, residential programs for children, with Child Protective Services, and in Private Practice. Since 2012, I’ve walked alongside clients in the U.S. and India as they’ve navigated life's turning points—moments of doubt, discovery, and deep transformation. I believe life unfolds in many shades. It’s not always fair or predictable, but with understanding and acceptance, we can find meaning and joy in even the most unexpected colors. My experience spans working with children, young adults, college students, couples, individuals, and families across culturally diverse backgrounds. Whether it’s helping a teenager find their voice, guiding a couple through conflict, or supporting someone through personal growth, I create a safe, nonjudgmental space that nurtures insight and healing. I hold onto the truth that obstacles often carry the seeds of growth. My role isn't to erase life’s challenges, but to support people in understanding them, responding with courage, and growing stronger in the process.

At the Child & Adult Behavior Center, we help both adults and children, as well as parents. For adults, we help you find ways to cope with stress, anxiety, loss and depression. Not only talking through and understanding, but also concrete "what to do about it" coping skills, lead to calmer, more stable emotions and relationships. We find cognitive behavioral therapy very useful, and within that, learning the skills of mindfulness, a form of in-the-moment meditative thinking, to calm and focus the mind when emotions overtake. This fosters a new way of viewing and handling stressful situations as they arise. For children's therapy, we work with you, and with your child. Parents' feedback is a critical part of helping children feel and do better. We help you with parent-child interactions to find your way as you navigate the seas of child behavior. Our specializations are the treatment for Aspergers/autism, ADHD, Oppositional Defiance, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, emotional self regulation, the behavioral and emotional aspects of sensory issues, anxiety and depression. Our special programs also treat a wide range of neuroatypical, developmentally challenged children. Neuro-typical parent-child relationships, family relations, and parenting issues for all children and teens are also our focus. We help - you help your child - with ideas and techniques to put into action. Ideas that can greatly reduce the stress and storm of being a parent in the trenches. Peace in the home is possible!

Hello Friend! Welcome to my practice, Pragmatic Solutions Therapy, PLLC! I am an experienced psychotherapist with over 20 years. I've worked in private practice and in the clinical hospital setting and now own my own thriving practice. I have passion, dedication and ethical standards I uphold with every client. My basic mantra in life is simple: Drop the baggage and take the value. Step out of the box and if you can't change the problem, then change the way you see it using a different perspective. Everyone at one point or another in life may experience a host of unbearable stressors that may leave one feeling stressed or 'out of sorts'. We may even describe the feeling as 'lost in a web of frustration', with feelings such as anxious, fatigue, sadness as if our unique threshold is completely depleted. Feeling anxious is normal. Feeling stressed is actually a sense of determination to gain back control with temporary tiredness. Anxiousness is innate in all of us. What's not healthy is when stressors cross the threshold to what feels comfortable, interrupts our daily habits/responsibilities to 'fix things' and ourself in solitude. I’ll help you navigate the web of confusion to find empowerment. My journey began as a young child whose home was a host of struggles and with the insight into what we all experience. Inspired by a helper, I became a psychotherapist, worked in clinical setting, garnered a vast amount of knowledge which helps me to specialize in various modalities of treatment. As a psychotherapist, I hold a high standard for myself and clients, which includes helping those dealing w/depression, grief, anxiety, relationship issues, trauma, chronic health and other issues. Together, we'll identify what's not working, find solutions you may use to form goals without rescripting your life. Respectfully, Monica Pina

I feel it is an honor to help clients through various issues such as relationship conflicts, self-esteem issues, depression, anxiety, etc. My fascination with the field began when I was merely ten years old, a time marked by the heart-wrenching aftermath of my parents' divorce, which left emotional scars that ignited my curiosity. Like many people, I have experienced loss and pain; however, with the right mindset and support, these challenges can be overcome!

Let me guess: You've been thinking about therapy for a while now. Maybe months, maybe years, but something kept stopping you…too busy, too expensive, "it's not that bad yet," or maybe just the fear of opening up to a stranger who might judge you or not really get it. Here's what I want you to know: You're already doing the hardest part by being here, you don't need to wait until things get worse, you don't need permission to ask for help, and you definitely don't have to figure this out alone. That's literally what I'm here for. As a board-certified bilingual therapist (MS, LMHC, LPC, NCC) licensed in Florida, Texas, and New Jersey, an Army veteran, and the founder of Time to Talk Therapy, I have spent over 10 years supporting more than 3,000 clients through trauma, anxiety, depression, and major life transitions that once felt impossible to navigate. I've worked everywhere from crisis units and corrections facilities to refugee shelters and quiet therapy rooms, supporting people through chronic mental illness, personality disorders, abuse, trauma, ADHD, OCD, addictions, and some of the hardest moments of their lives... and here's what I know for sure: healing doesn't require perfection, it requires honesty and someone who actually gets it. You're not broken, you're dealing with hard things, and you deserve help that feels supportive, not cold, not judgmental, not like one more thing you're supposed to "fix" about yourself. I specialize in trauma and PTSD, anxiety and depression, self-sabotage and recurrent patterns, complex PTSD and personality disorders, as well as life transitions. 📣 I know life can get busy, so I offer weekend availability, early-morning sessions, and after-hours appointments (6:00 AM–10:00 PM EST), along with self-pay options to give you a little more flexibility.

Hello! I'm Mickey, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based out of Texas. I am glad that you are here. I understand how daunting it can feel trying to find the right fit when looking for a therapist. In the midst of challenges, you are taking the right steps in finding your way to prioritizing your well being. The process can feel overwhelming, so I wanted to take a moment to tell you a little about myself and my approach to therapy. My job is to provide a safe space for you to build trust and rapport, and to share without the fear of consequence or judgement. I am here to provide support and guidance to help you process difficult emotions, experiences, challenges and life changes. I mostly use cognitive behavioral approach to help clients better understand the connection between our thoughts, feelings and behaviors. I don't believe in labels or "tough love" but rather, I will use an eclectic approach to therapy, which allows me to tailor my approach to the individual.
