I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor who works with adults who are trying to better understand themselves, their relationships, and the patterns that keep them feeling stuck. I’m especially drawn to working with people who have spent a lot of time questioning themselves, putting others’ needs before their own, or feeling disconnected from who they are and what they want. My work often centers around developing self-trust, creating healthier relationships, strengthening boundaries, and feeling more secure and confident in yourself. My approach is warm, genuine, collaborative, and practical. I believe therapy should be a place where you can be honest about what’s really going on without feeling judged or pressured to have everything figured out. We can slow things down, explore what may be underneath the patterns you’re experiencing, and make sense of how your past experiences and current relationships may be influencing the way you see yourself and move through the world. Many people reach a point where they know something needs to change, but aren’t quite sure what that change looks like. You may be navigating a transition, questioning whether your relationships reflect what you truly want, struggling to trust your own decisions, or simply feeling unlike yourself. Sometimes the hardest part is knowing that the way you’ve been coping isn’t working anymore, while not yet knowing what to do instead. My goal is to help you develop a clearer understanding of yourself and the life you want to create. I’m not here to tell you who to be or what choices to make. I’m here to help you feel more grounded in yourself, recognize what you need, and build the confidence and tools to move forward in a way that feels authentic to you.

Hi, I'm Attalie. Have you forgotten to take care of yourself? Do you often wonder what it would take to feel some sense of balance in your life again? We are faced with challenges and changes in life constantly. Making adjustments to pivot to meet the expectations of those changes often leads to feelings of overwhelm, disappointment, frustrations and a sense of depletion with no time to care for self. If you often escape, avoid, procrastinate or for that matter take on everyone else's issues except your own sense of wellness and health I am here to help empower you to develop and access your own inner resources and move toward self actualization and personal growth. I look at mental health in a wholistic sense. I mix mindfulness and decades of experience in fitness to help you find what works for you to live your best balanced life and find the fulfillment you need to step into the alignment of your purpose. Developing a strong relationship with self; defining your boundaries, recognizing your value systems and how they pertain to your way of being in this messy world are the staples to grounding yourself mentally. You are enough, you are deserving, and whatever you are dealing with now I'll meet you there. Let's work together to find tools that are intrinsically yours and get to a better you, so that each day is met with a sense of balance and well being despite the stressors in life.

Are you having more bad days than good days? Tell me if this sounds like you: You're low most of the time, and it's hard to remember the last time you felt like yourself. You feel sad and unmotivated. Getting out of bed takes effort, and things you used to enjoy feel flat. You snap at people, then feel guilty. And sometimes the heaviness gets so loud that you have thoughts of not wanting to be here. If that's you, you're not weak, dramatic, or beyond help. Those thoughts are a sign of how much stress you're carrying, and they're something we can talk about openly, without judgment or alarm. You can probably trace where it comes from: the unpredictable home, the pull between cultures, the habit of staying capable and needing little. You've done the reflecting, and maybe the therapy too. But insight didn't make the feelings go away. Often it's because anxiety and depression are feeding each other, and understanding alone doesn't reach that cycle.

My therapeutic style is warm, relational, experiential, and direct. I use humor to help clients relax and feel at home where I can. One of the first skills I teach a new client is nervous system regulation. This is a gift that will pay dividends in the future. Somatic approaches are a nice place to start and helps clients to build skills in sitting with the hard moments, slowing down when needed, cultivating curiosity, and deepening their emotional experiences. I encourage self-compassion and self-love as explorations we can make slowly and together, and over time, clients find that this can become comfortable and even joy-inducing. I believe we’re called to grow and change when the strategies that once helped us survive and adapt start causing us problems. This doesn't mean we are broken or need fixing, not at all. In fact, it is those very skills that got you here, and we celebrate that. We might consider safe and tiny ways we can help move beyond old patterns of shame, guilt, people-pleasing, and self-judgment... and into a more authentic life that is a more rewarding, exciting, and consistent way of being who you want to be. Together we aim for more authenticity, more self-forgiveness and and self-acceptance as we work towards the life YOU want.

Hello! I am Wendy Theriot,MA,LPC. I spent years specializing in trauma-focused therapy and have worked in the private practice setting as well as treatment facility setting. This year I have taken a break from in-person therapy where I specialized in EMDR to more of a person-centered approach addressing men’s issues, as well as working mainly with with First Responders, Veterans, Active Duty personnel as well as couples. I guide the client in the direction of healing or self actualization incorporating Cognitive Processing , Jungian therapy and Attachment-Based therapy. “Jungian”refers to the psychological doctrines and analytical therapy developed by the Swiss psychiatrist Carl Jung. It helps to uncover hidden forces driving human behavior by integrating the conscious and unconscious mind, ultimately striving toward authenticity and personal wholeness. Attachment Based therapy is a form of counseling that explores how your early childhood relationships with primary caregivers shape your adult attachment style. In addition to individual therapy I have worked with couples using the Gottman Method. It is a structured, research-based approach to couples therapy developed by Drs. John and Julie Gottman. It aims to disarm conflicting verbal communication, increase intimacy and respect, and remove barriers. If you are seeing me through an EAP or have a limited amount of therapy sessions I also do Solution Focused Brief Therapy where we don’t look at the past as much as we look towards the future and what you want to envision. With my help you can get there.

I work with clients who want to improve the way they experience life. The desire for better relationships with themselves and with others, and to gain a sense of purpose and meaning. I’ve always been interested in what drives people and believe that we can usually discover what is best for ourselves if we slow down, take the time to think things through, talk about it with a person we trust, and express the feelings we have in healthy ways—even the negative ones we may try to avoid. I use a number of therapeutic modalities in my practice, which connect thoughts to feelings and feelings to thoughts, enabling my clients to change and grow in the positive direction that they might envision for themselves. I work with clients who have struggled with addiction, anger, anxiety, depression, relationship separation, internal conflict and conflict with others, grief and loss, and other transitions and adjustment issues. I have completed Gottman trainings, as well as Emotion-Focused Therapy, which offers a structured approach and an emotional map for couples or individuals to learn how successful couples make their relationships last and how to handle conflict in a way that prevents damage to the relationship and helps them feel better connected to their partner. I am also trained in EMDR, a therapy designed to help a person unlock their nervous system to recover from trauma, PTSD, depression, anxiety, and other problems that can take hold.

Hi there! My name is Brooke Elliott and I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Since 2018, I’ve worked in various mental health settings helping my community connect with resources that build self-esteem. I have been practicing as an individual therapist since 2021. Growing up with undiagnosed neurodivergence, shame and struggle marked my everyday interactions with my family and the world around me, as well as my view of who I was as a person. I learned what it felt like to be alone with my anxieties because I didn’t have the words to express to others what I was feeling on the inside. Learning that there was a reason for my struggles opened a new world of self-acceptance and empowerment, one that allowed me to take charge of my life and give myself the care I had been missing. Today, I get to work with people who struggle like I did to find a "method to their madness". Together, we'll get rid of the shame that stops you from finding the acceptance you deserve and work towards building a life that fits within your unique needs.

Starting therapy can take courage, especially if you’ve felt misunderstood, judged, or unsupported in the past. My goal is to create a space where you can show up exactly as you are — a place that feels safe, affirming, and genuinely supportive. I especially enjoy working with LGBTQIA+ folks, women, and anyone navigating the impacts of trauma, identity-based stress, or systems that haven’t always made space for them. In our work together, we’ll move at your pace and focus on what matters most to you. Therapy with me is collaborative — you’re the expert on your life, and I’m here to support you with tools, perspective, and care as you make sense of your experiences and move toward the life you want. Some of the approaches I draw from include EMDR for trauma processing, DBT for building coping and emotional regulation skills, and The Daring Way™ work around vulnerability, courage, and living in alignment with your values. Many people come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure where to start. That’s okay — we’ll figure it out together. Whether you’re working through trauma, anxiety, relationship challenges, identity exploration, or simply wanting to understand yourself more deeply, therapy can be a place to slow down, reflect, and build the skills you need to move forward. If you’re curious about working together, I’d love to connect. Whoever you are, you are welcome here.

Feeling overwhelmed by life lately? You don't have to figure it all out on your own. Maybe you're going through a breakup, questioning your marriage, adjusting to life with a new baby, grieving someone you love, or just feeling like you've lost yourself somewhere along the way. Maybe nothing is necessarily wrong, but you're exhausted, overwhelmed, can't shut your brain off, or feel stuck in the same patterns and aren't sure how to move forward. Whatever brought you here, I'm glad you found me. I'm a Texas therapist with 28 years of experience in mental health, and I've been providing virtual therapy since 2015. I work with adults navigating life's harder seasons, relationship struggles, anxiety, grief, trauma, burnout, family stress, and all those times when life just feels like too much. My approach is down-to-earth, supportive, and focused on helping you figure out what's going on, what you need, and what you can actually do to start feeling better. You don't have to have everything figured out before starting therapy, and you certainly don't have to wait until things get worse to ask for help.

I’m a therapist who believes therapy should be real, practical, and actually helpful in your day to day life. My work is grounded in REBT (Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy), which focuses on how your thoughts shape your emotions and behaviors and how to shift what’s not working. It’s less about just changing thoughts and more about challenging the unrealistic expectations we put on ourselves, other people, and life. It teaches you how to deal with reality even when reality is inconvenient, unfair, or just plain annoying because let's be honest, life is going to life, and it's in our best interest to learn how to accept that fact while still honoring how we may feel about it. While I consider myself an REBT therapist it's important to note that I don’t do "one size fits all therapy." I pull from approaches like CBT and Narrative Therapy and I tailor the work to fit you, not the other way around. At my core, I lead with a humanistic approach, which means you’ll get honesty, support, and a space where you don’t have to filter who you are. With couples and families, I use Family Systems approaches along with the Gottman Method (Level I certified) to help improve communication, rebuild trust, and create stronger, healthier dynamics.

Thank you for taking the first step of courage and making yourself a priority today. Opening yourself up and being vulnerable can be a tremendous step to your healing process. As Brene Brown says, “Vulnerability is not winning or losing, it’s having the courage to show up and be seen when we have no control over the outcome.” You are showing up for yourself today! Although the first steps can be overwhelming, I can walk with you and help guide you on the journey of healing and peace. I will always provide a safe space of acceptance and non-judgement for you to share your emotional pain, grow to love and be kind to yourself, and find the peace you deserve to heal. As a Licensed Psychotherapist serving clients in Florida, Georgia, New Hampshire, and Texas, I am passionate about supporting individuals on their journey toward healing, growth, and reconnection. I believe that true healing is not just about the mind, but also about honoring the body and nurturing the spirit. This belief has shaped my Somatic Insight Therapeutic Approach—one that gently invites you back into relationship with yourself. With a strong foundation in trauma-informed care, I have seen how powerful it can be when we slow down and begin to listen to what the body is holding. Together, we create a safe, supportive space where you can explore your inner experiences with curiosity and compassion. By weaving together mindfulness, body awareness, and evidence-based therapeutic practices, I help you tune into your emotions, understand your nervous system, and move through your experiences at a pace that feels right for you. Our work together is collaborative and personalized. We may integrate reflective conversation, breathwork, and gentle somatic practices to help you reconnect with your body, build self-awareness, and find a sense of grounding and steadiness within. My intention is to support you in feeling more at home in yourself—more connected, more resourced, and more empowered in your healing. Whether you are navigating anxiety, depression, chronic illness, life transitions, or the lingering effects of trauma, you don’t have to do it alone. I am here to walk alongside you with care and intention, as you rediscover your strength, reclaim your story, and move toward a deeper sense of balance, peace, and wholeness.

Hello! My name is Adam Lenker. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, licensed in Texas and Wisconsin. Whatever you are dealing with, know that I am here to listen and support you, through harnessing of compassionate self-awareness. I believe strongly in encouraging self-empowerment, focusing on choices and their results. Central to my theoretical orientation (Person-Centered, Existentialist) is a focus on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, being solution-focused, as well as encouraging mindfulness. A little bit about how I approach therapy. In creating an alliance with a new client, I adopt a stance of listening and confronting situations non-judgmentally and with compassion, acknowledging that this work is about you, and your life's goals and struggles. My practice is built around partnership with my clients, working hard to establish and maintain this therapeutic alliance. I do this by taking cues of direction, pace and depth from the people with whom I work, and allowing for immediacy to inform what is and is not working.

Hi, I'm Esther. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Daring Way Trained Facilitator. I've been providing counseling to individuals for almost 6 years. Prior to that, I worked in the education sector for almost 10 years, which deeply sparked my interest in pursuing mental health work. To me, counseling sessions are like writing a story. It is a process that involves brainstorming, creating drafts, and making revisions until your story feels whole and complete. Imagine you are the writer. You have all the pieces of your story within you already. Think of your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors as those pieces. Sometimes, they don’t make any sense, it’s overwhelming, and you don’t know where to begin. I view my role as someone who is with you to guide you through the process and help organize those very thoughts, feelings, and behaviors with you. During our time together, it is my hope that you develop the skills to ultimately write your story on your own. Your story may include experiencing cycles of depression, anxiety, grief, past trauma, struggles of worthiness and belonging, the complexities of being a part of an immigrant family, generational trauma, a combination of these things, or perhaps something entirely different. Everyone's mental health journey is different. I’m here to meet you where you are. I also want to acknowledge how scary it can be when taking a leap of faith into a new therapeutic journey. It takes a lot of courage. More than anything, it’s important to me that you feel safe and the stories you share are handled with utmost care.

I also work with couples who are experiencing conflicts in their relationships. It is not always easy to reach out and ask for help with areas of our lives we feel we need support with. Hello! I bring 17 years of mental health experience along for your sessions. I have been in private practice since January of 2023. I consider myself a generalist and I'm happy to help you with any need or concern that you might have. Some of the areas where I have the most experience are depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and grief and loss. I have spent the majority of my career working in a University setting and have helped many college-age adults make meaningful changes. I have also worked in behavioral health clinics and have experience working with clients that have been legally referred to therapy. I work with almost all age groups however, I typically do not work with persons under the age of 18. If you are a minor, please have your guardian consult with me before scheduling an intake and I will consider your need and my areas of expertise and help you determine our next steps. I am also no longer able to accommodate couples therapy. If you are seeking a couples therapy session I will be happy to assist you with a referral. At this time, I am unable to assist with FMLA paperwork.

Frequently asked questions

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in Texas. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Texas from Houston to Austin! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Texas.

Yes! If you use Surest (formerly Bind) you’ll be asked to verify your Member ID at the time you book the appointment. However, if you don’t have Surest (formerly Bind) you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
