Welcome! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has worked in several clinical settings for over 11 years. I have worked in hospitals, student counseling settings, adoption settings, and care for older adults. My communication style is kind and empathic, and I work to listen to the subtext of what you are saying in our discussion. I strive to identify pieces you may be overlooking and bring them to light so we can examine them openly. I work to understand your experience better and begin moving you toward a life you find more fulfilling.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we will work to identify therapy goals that you would like to work on and I will provide my thoughts on something you can consider or do moving forward until our next session. I will also ask you questions to better get to know you and your history.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am a compassionate and open-minded counselor who wants to know the real, authentic you. That way, we can better identify what is and isn't working in your life while pursuing productive change. I am open to your feedback and I am focused on making our sessions work in a way that is best for you.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I see adult clients of any age who struggle with anxiety, depression, grief, loss, career decisions, life transitions, LGBTQ+ concerns, trauma, women's issues, parenting concerns, chronic illness, adoption, conflict, attachment needs, and relationship difficulties. Each individual's experience is different, and I believe a person-centered approach is vital to a successful therapeutic process.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Acceptance and Commitment therapy can be a useful modality for moving toward mindfulness and re-centering personal values in decisions.

Attachment-based

Attachment styles and the framework around them can be very useful in understanding and navigating interpersonal relationships.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT can be effective to access the logical, rational part of our brain and it can help us reframe a subjective narrative to more fully reflect the situation at hand.

Compassion Focused

I engage with clients with compassion first regardless of whichever modality we decide to use.

Eclectic

I tend to draw from a variety of modalities, including ACT, EFT, CBT, SFT, DBT, narrative therapy, and others. Not all aspects of each modality work for everyone so sometimes, there is a need to try different techniques and see what works best.
