Welcome! I’m Teresa Estrada, Licensed Psychotherapist, Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP), and Qualified Clinical Supervisor. With over 18 years of experience, I provide compassionate, bilingual therapy in both English and Spanish to individuals and families navigating life’s challenges. I understand that deciding to start therapy can feel overwhelming—especially with the stigma that sometimes surrounds mental health—but choosing to seek support is a courageous and important step toward healing and growth. Whether you’re experiencing anxiety, depression, PTSD, relationship struggles, or adjusting to a new environment, culture, or life stage, you’ve come to the right place. My approach is warm, practical, and personalized, focused on creating a safe and supportive space where you can explore your emotions and develop effective coping skills. I’ve had the privilege of working with a diverse range of clients—children, adults, and couples—and my goal is always to help you build resilience, manage stress, and improve your emotional well-being. Together, we’ll identify the challenges that impact your daily life and develop practical, evidence-based strategies tailored to your unique needs. As a Qualified Clinical Supervisor, I also support and guide other therapists in their professional development, ensuring high standards of care in the mental health community. If you’re ready to take that next step toward feeling better and living a more balanced life, I’m here to help.
Your first session is an important opportunity for us to get to know each other and start building a trusting, supportive relationship. Here’s what you can expect: Getting Acquainted: We’ll spend time talking about what brought you to therapy, your current challenges, and what you hope to achieve. This is your chance to share your story and ask any questions you may have about the process. Review of Consent and Confidentiality: I will explain important details about confidentiality, your rights as a client, and how we will work together. We’ll review and complete any necessary paperwork, including informed consent forms, so you feel fully informed and comfortable. Assessment and Goal Setting: I may ask some questions to better understand your mental health history, symptoms, and strengths. Together, we’ll begin to outline goals and focus areas for our work, tailored to your unique needs. Discussing the Therapy Process: I’ll explain how therapy works, what techniques and approaches I use, and what you can expect in upcoming sessions. We’ll also talk about scheduling and any questions you might have. Your first session is a safe, judgment-free space for you to explore your feelings and decide if this therapeutic relationship feels like the right fit. Remember, therapy is a collaborative journey—your comfort and readiness are always my top priority.
I have the ability to relate to people from all walks of life, which helps me create a warm and empathetic space in therapy. I believe that when clients feel safe and understood, they can openly share their thoughts, feelings, and experiences without fear of judgment. My goal is to build a trusting, genuine connection where you feel heard and supported. This foundation allows us to work together in an honest and collaborative way, so I can tailor my approach to fit your unique needs. I’m here to help you explore your challenges and find practical solutions that empower you to move forward with confidence.
My clients value a warm, collaborative therapeutic relationship and are open to exploring practical, evidence-based strategies tailored to their unique experiences. They appreciate the importance of a safe, judgment-free space where they can process their emotions and develop effective coping skills.
In my practice, I use a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) to support clients in gaining insight, emotional relief, and practical tools for everyday life. CBT helps us identify the connection between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we’ll explore how automatic negative thoughts may be contributing to anxiety, depression, or other emotional challenges. In addition to CBT, I also integrate Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT)—sometimes called “tapping.” EFT is a gentle, body-based method that combines elements of psychology and acupressure to help reduce emotional distress. Together, CBT and EFT create a powerful toolkit that addresses both the mind and body. Whether you're looking for practical strategies, emotional release, or deeper healing, this integrative approach is designed to meet you where you are and help you move forward.
