In the first session together, we will start off by collecting information from one another on what to expect from sessions and build a rapport. I like to use humor and warmth as a means to assist the client in feeling safe enough to process vulnerable emotions. The following sessions will consist of continuation of rapport building, identifying your treatment plan goals , objectives, and actions to reach those goals.
With the use of a client-centered, solution-focused approach her goal is to provide a safe environment for the client to feel safe and secure in exploring their emotions, self-goals, and how the client views.
I love to work with clients who have found themselves struggling with adjusting to changes or processing unhealed trauma. I enjoy working with clients who are open to taking effective action and receiving constructive feedback to assist with motivation for change. I am currently working with adult clients only.
I have extensive experience using ACT as a treatment modality. I find it to be an effective approach for helping clients identify and commit to values-based action. I believe that this approach can be helpful for a wide range of clients, including those who are struggling with anxiety, depression, or other emotional issues.
I have become certified in DBT training and often pait DBT with other treatment modalities to assist the client in developing effective coping skills to manage daily stressors and break unhelpful thinking patterns.
I have began providing faith based counseling and implement Christina based values during treatment to serve as a motivation factor and anchor to identified goals in life.
