I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in TX, CO, and ID, passionate about helping individuals heal, grow, and reconnect with themselves in meaningful and lasting ways. My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, trauma-informed, and grounded in authenticity. I believe healing happens when people feel emotionally safe, genuinely seen, and supported without judgment. I specialize in navigating anxiety, OCD, trauma, emotional overwhelm, relationship challenges, identity struggles, intimacy concerns, trauma, perfectionism, and major life transitions. I also have experience supporting couples, children, adults, LGBTQIA+ clients, neurodivergent individuals, BIPOC communities, and Spanish-speaking clients through culturally sensitive and affirming care. My therapeutic style integrates evidence-based approaches including Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness-based therapy, somatic techniques, play therapy interventions, and sex therapy-informed work. I strive to create therapy experiences that are both practical and deeply compassionate, helping clients better understand themselves while building the tools needed for emotional regulation, healthier relationships, and long-term healing. As a bilingual Latina therapist, I value creating spaces where clients can show up fully as themselves. I understand how culture, family dynamics, identity, and lived experiences can shape emotional wellbeing, and I aim to honor each client’s unique story throughout the therapeutic process. In addition to my clinical work, I am passionate about holistic healing, nervous system regulation, breathwork, and personal growth. My goal is to help clients move beyond survival mode and toward lives that feel more connected, balanced, authentic, and emotionally sustainable. I view therapy as a collaborative journey where healing is not about perfection, but about creating greater self-awareness, resilience, and compassion for yourself along the way.

An experienced medical social worker, my niche is helping those recovering from chronic physical and emotional pain, mystery symptoms, illness and disease processes (including infertility, maternal loss, peri/menopause, terminal illness, limb loss, and caregiver role stress). My clients often have chronic pain, fatigue, migraines, fibromyalgia, back/neck/hip and other joint pains, pelvic floor pain, EDS, POTS, dysautonomia, CRPS, IBS, PMDD, and other chronic conditions. I especially love supporting those coping with feelings of low self worth, depression, anxiety, panic, trauma, and grief. I am importantly trained in Pain Reprocessing Therapy and EAET -- the most current research backed methods for recovering from chronic pain that I especially love to share. Because they work! I am also trained in EMDR, CBT, Mindfulness, and energy psychologies like EFT (aka “tapping”). I study Internal Family Systems Therapy, psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy, and dream tending.  My authentic approach is also intimately informed by the wisdom traditions that have healed my own life. The mother of a child with a life threatening seizure disorder, I am not unfamiliar with suffering. I often turn to my spiritual faith, Jungian Psychology, nature, and the Wise Woman Herbalism Tradition. I am a life-long meditation, yoga, and reiki practitioner, and always a student of Buddhist Psychology. I find healing in stillness, puppies, humor, art, poetry, and the sacred. I love stories.

Feeling overwhelmed by life lately? You don't have to figure it all out on your own. Maybe you're going through a breakup, questioning your marriage, adjusting to life with a new baby, grieving someone you love, or just feeling like you've lost yourself somewhere along the way. Maybe nothing is necessarily wrong, but you're exhausted, overwhelmed, can't shut your brain off, or feel stuck in the same patterns and aren't sure how to move forward. Whatever brought you here, I'm glad you found me. I'm a Texas therapist with 28 years of experience in mental health. I work with adults navigating life's harder seasons, relationship struggles, anxiety, grief, trauma, burnout, family stress, and all those times when life just feels like too much. My approach is down-to-earth, supportive, and focused on helping you figure out what's going on, what you need, and what you can actually do to start feeling better. You don't have to have everything figured out before starting therapy, and you certainly don't have to wait until things get worse to ask for help.

My name is Elizabeth and I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in the states of Texas and Arizona. I am also a certified school counselor and transitioned to full-time mental health counseling after working as a high school counselor. I have been working as a counselor for 10 years, primarily in the school setting. I helped my students with issues such as family problems, academic struggles, relationship issues, trauma/abuse, ADHD, autism, depression, anxiety, perfectionism, grief, and suicidal ideation. Before working as a counselor, I was an elementary teacher for 6 years. I have experience working with adults and adolescents. I love seeing my clients understand themselves better and improve their mental health. I feel comfortable counseling people from a variety of backgrounds, especially those whose backgrounds are different than my own. My entire professional career has been spent with a primarily Hispanic population, but I am comfortable with other cultures, as well. I am a big fan of CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and Solutions-focused therapy, but I try to cater my counseling to each client, so I often incorporate different counseling philosophies as needed. I believe my clients are the experts on their own lives and I want to work with them to improve their contentment, coping skills, and mental health. I believe it is important and beneficial to have a nonjudgmental, unbiased person to talk to. This is one of the best parts of counseling. I often use humor to lighten the mood when counseling. I find this helps grow my relationships with my clients. Congratulations on making the first step towards getting help. I would love to work with you.

Hi, I'm Julie Este-McDonald — a Licensed Professional Counselor, Executive Coach, and doctoral candidate in Industrial/Organizational Psychology who researches burnout. I'm passionate about helping people heal, grow, and reconnect with who they are beneath the weight of everything they've been carrying. I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, burnout, PTSD, life transitions, and the quiet exhaustion that comes from constantly holding it all together. I have a particular heart for women — and especially Black women — who are managing the layered demands of high achievement, caregiving, leadership, and everything in between. My approach is trauma-informed and attachment-aware, meaning I pay close attention not just to what you're experiencing, but to how your history has shaped the way you move through the world. I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you examine the thought patterns influencing how you see yourself and others, and I bring warmth, honesty, and practical tools to every session. For clients who want faith to be part of the conversation, I'm also equipped to hold that space. With a post-graduate certificate in Pastoral Counseling, I support clients integrating spirituality into their healing — as well as those deconstructing or reimagining their relationship with faith altogether, including those navigating religious trauma. Whether you're brand new to therapy or returning to go deeper, my goal is simple: to create a space where you feel safe, genuinely seen, and supported in building a life that feels as good on the inside as it may already look on the outside.

I am a wife, mother, and woman of faith who is passionate about helping women navigate the many challenges life can bring. As the spouse of an Air Force service member for 22 years, I had the opportunity to live in many places around the world, giving me a deep appreciation for resilience, change, and the unique experiences that shape each person's story. Today, I proudly call San Antonio, Texas home and feel honored to serve women of faith across the state. I believe therapy should be a place where you feel safe, heard, and encouraged. Whether you're facing a difficult season, adjusting to life's changes, or simply looking for support and guidance, I strive to create a compassionate environment where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and goals without judgment. Together, we'll build on your strengths, deepen your understanding of yourself, and work toward meaningful, lasting growth while honoring your personal values and faith.

Reaching out for support can be one of the hardest parts of starting therapy. You don’t have to have everything figured out before you begin. Therapy can be a space to slow down, talk openly about what you’re experiencing, and gain a different perspective on the challenges you’re facing. My goal is to create a warm, welcoming, and nonjudgmental environment where you feel heard, understood, and comfortable being yourself. My style is warm, conversational, and thoughtfully questioning. Rather than simply telling you what to do, I’ll help you explore your thoughts, recognize patterns, make connections, and identify practical steps that feel realistic for your life. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Reality Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy to help clients challenge unhelpful thinking patterns, build effective coping skills, identify solutions, and work toward meaningful goals. Because no two people have the same experiences or needs, treatment is collaborative and individualized to you. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, navigating a difficult transition, struggling with anxiety or depression, or simply recognizing that something in your life needs to change, you don’t have to work through it alone. Taking the first step can feel intimidating, but reaching this point means you’ve already started. Let’s take the next step together.

Mrs. Whiteside has worked in various mental health settings maintaining her unwavering focus on mothers and small children. As a perinatal psychotherapist, Mrs. Whiteside works with mothers and/or families who are struggling with perinatal mental illness during pregnancy and the postpartum period. Mrs. Whiteside is currently a social work doctoral student at The University of Louisville researching the impact of perinatal mood disorders, as evidence indicates that depression and other mood disorders in parents can have a harmful impact on children, including cognitive difficulties, insecure attachment, and behavioral problems.

Frequently asked questions

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in Texas. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Texas from Houston to Austin! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Texas.

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need. For example, your selected specialty, Post Partum, is filtering therapists in Texas that work with patients with similar concerns.

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
