Hola, Welcome! My name is Monique and I’m a bilingual mental health counselor with over seven years of experience supporting individuals as they navigate life’s challenges and emotions. Over the years, I’ve worked with children, adolescents, adults, caregivers, and professionals navigating anxiety, stress, trauma, grief, depression, life transitions, and burnout. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck in negative thinking patterns, or struggling with stress in relationships, work, or major life changes. I help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors so they can develop practical tools to manage stress, build healthier boundaries, and feel more in control of their lives. I believe one of the bravest things you can do is begin to understand your own story. I provide a warm, collaborative space where clients can explore stress, transitions, relationships, and personal growth in a way that feels both practical and empowering. My goal is to help you build clarity, resilience, and confidence as you create a life that feels balanced and aligned with who you are.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session I want to get to know you. I would like to know the reason that brought you in to therapy and the goals that you want to set for yourself. This is a chance for us to slow down and get to know each other in a comfortable, supportive space as we begin to build our therapeutic relationship. I’ll listen carefully to your story, what’s been feeling hard lately, and what you’re hoping will change. Together, we’ll begin making sense of what you’re experiencing and how your brain, emotions, and relationships may be connected.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

One of my greatest strengths as a mental health therapist is my ability to create a space where clients feel genuinely heard, understood, and safe to be themselves. I approach therapy with warmth, compassion, and curiosity—without judgment—so you don’t have to worry about saying the “right” thing. You can show up exactly as you are. My goal is always for clients to leave sessions feeling calmer, more confident, and equipped with tools they can actually use.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I specializes in supporting young professionals as they navigate the complexities of work-life balance, career and life transitions, anxiety, depression, low self esteem and relational conflict. With a compassionate and collaborative approach, I help clients build clarity, confidence, and practical coping strategies to manage stress and life changes. I am particularly attuned to the unique challenges faced by first-time mothers, offering a supportive space to explore shifts in self-esteem, identity, and personal expectations. By integrating evidence-based techniques with a strengths-based and empathetic perspective, I empowers clients to reconnect with their sense of self, strengthen relationships, and create a more balanced, fulfilling life.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is a structured, evidence-based approach that focuses on the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. The core idea is simple: unhelpful thinking patterns can lead to distressing feelings and ineffective behaviors, and by changing those patterns, people can improve how they feel and act. In practice, CBT usually starts with identifying specific problems—like anxiety, depression, or stress—and setting clear, measurable goals. Rather than digging deeply into the distant past, it focuses mostly on present-day challenges and what’s maintaining them.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) is an evidence-based approach grounded in attachment theory. It focuses on how emotional bonds (especially in close relationships) shape our reactions, communication patterns, and sense of security. At its core, EFT helps people understand and change the emotional patterns that drive conflict and disconnection.

Faith based therapy

Faith-based therapy integrates spiritual or religious beliefs into the counseling process. It’s not a single method instead, it’s a flexible framework that can be combined with established approaches while incorporating a client’s faith tradition.

Strength-Based

A strengths-based approach focuses on what’s working, not just what’s wrong. Instead of centering only on symptoms, deficits, or diagnoses, it highlights a person’s resources within them that can be used to create change.

Trauma-Focused CBT

TF-CBT is a structured, evidence-based treatment designed to help people recover from the effects of trauma, such as abuse, violence, loss, or disasters. With this treatment method we will move at a pace that feels safe and manageable as well as work on balancing skill-building with trauma processing.
