Hello! I have worked in the mental health field for over 20 years and transitioned to private practice in February of 2020. Throughout my career, I worked closely with the Lucas County Juvenile Court and other community mental health agencies, assessing, diagnosing and treating a variety of emotional and behavioral issues. I have been privileged to have worked with adults, adolescents and children as they have navigated through various traumas and other life challenges.
My therapeutic focus is based on assisting my clients by finding and maintaining a healthy Mind/Body/Spirit healing and balance. This involves using appropriate therapeutic interventions based on diagnosis to stabilize symptoms and use of coping strategies and self-care to maintain and thrive!
Hi there! My name is Valeria.
Feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or burned out from trying to balance work, relationships, and major life changes?
I help high-achieving adults navigate anxiety, stress, burnout, and life transitions so they can feel more grounded, confident, and emotionally balanced.
I provide therapy in both English and Spanish and have extensive experience supporting Hispanic and Latino clients navigating stress, cultural transitions, burnout, and life changes in a supportive and culturally sensitive environment.
For more than a decade I have been counseling clients with a variety of mental, emotional, relational, and spiritual health struggles from a wide spectrum of personalities and life experiences. Each counseling experience brings challenges and victories. I consider it an honor and privilege to come alongside individuals or couples in need- to help in the healing process through processing trauma, identifying and replacing harmful and self-sabotaging patterns of behavior with restorative ones, providing mediation and advocacy, and offering compassion and accountability.
I grew up in Ohio, but now live on a 17 acre homestead in the Ozarks with my wife of 17 years and our 6 children. My personal interests range from video games to lumberjacking. I have enjoyed the time and opportunity to work remotely and start a new chapter in my life with my family figuring out the homesteading chaos.
Are you feeling tired, overwhelmed, or stretched too thin? Maybe you’ve been carrying too much for too long—showing up for others while putting your own needs aside. You might find yourself saying yes when you want to say no, or feeling pulled in different directions, unsure how to move forward. Perhaps you’re navigating difficult relationships, caregiving responsibilities, or a season of life that feels heavier than expected.

I am a Licensed Professional Mental Health Counselor who believes in creating a supportive, respectful space where clients feel heard, understood, and valued. I approach therapy from a humanistic, client-centered perspective and view the therapeutic relationship as a collaborative process in which clients are the experts in their own lives.

As a Licensed Independent Social Worker, I am passionate about working with individuals and families who are ready to better understand themselves, build on their strengths, and create meaningful, lasting change. I take a strengths-based approach, believing that each person already holds the foundation needed for success. Together, we identify and build on those strengths to move through obstacles with confidence and clarity. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from Case Western Reserve University with a concentration in Drugs and Alcohol, and my Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Bowling Green State University.

Hi, I'm Carolyn Dower, LCSW, LISW with 36 years experience working with adults, teens, and couples to find inner peace, better health, happier relationships, and more fulfilling work.
Would you like to understand yourself better so that you can feel better and get more of what you want in life? I help with the range of problems that people can have -- depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, grief, spiritual conflicts, and relationship problems -- or whatever is troubling you. I don't see couples with Domestic Violence issues because I don't have experience in that area.
We'll begin by listening deeply to your thoughts, feelings, and needs as you are comfortable sharing them. Together we can find solutions to your problems. All of this works together for good self esteem, good energy, and a good life.
Thank you for taking the time to learn about me and how we might work together. Hoping to meet you soon!

I am Dr. Shazia Naurin, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and Supervisor based in Ohio, dedicated to helping individuals navigate life's challenges with compassion, evidence-based care, and cultural sensitivity. I hold national certification as a counselor (NCC), a Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CCMHC), and an Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS).
I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), certified in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (C-DBT), and trained in Internal Family System (IFS) enabling me to support clients working through trauma, emotional dysregulation, and deeply rooted patterns. My approach is grounded in authenticity, empowerment, and a deep commitment to helping clients build resilience, heal, and thrive.
I believe therapy works best when you feel truly seen, safe, and understood. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that meaningful change happens through connection.
I work with adults navigating anxiety, grief, life transitions, and the emotional weight of caregiving, relationships, and work stress. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure how to move forward — and together we create space to slow down, make sense of what’s happening, and build tools that actually fit your life.
Therapy with me is not about “fixing” you. It’s about helping you reconnect with your strengths, deepen self-compassion, and move toward a life that feels more balanced and authentic. I strive to create a space that is nonjudgmental, affirming, and supportive of your unique story
I have had the privilege of working with with a broad range of clients for over 6 years in the counseling field. This experience has been beneficial and rewarding in my journey of understanding and providing strong clinical guidance towards a wide range of the population. While I am rooted in existential-humanistic theory, I love to take a multi-modal and flexible approach to psychotherapy, so that I can better serve each individuals unique psychological and emotional needs.
Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and you may be wondering what our work together would actually look like. My goal is to create a supportive, collaborative space where you can better understand yourself, build practical skills, and work toward a life that feels more manageable and meaningful.
I use Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) as a primary approach. DBT is a skills-based, evidence-informed therapy that can help with managing intense emotions, navigating relationships, tolerating difficult situations, and responding to yourself and others with greater awareness and effectiveness.
Depending on your goals, we may focus on any or all of the following:
• Managing strong or overwhelming emotions
• Building healthier relationships and boundaries
• Increasing mindfulness and self-awareness
• Tolerating distress without making situations worse
• Strengthening self-compassion
• Building a life aligned with your values
Therapy works best when we approach it as a team. I’ll bring clinical knowledge, structure, support, and honest feedback; you bring your experiences, goals, questions, and willingness to practice new approaches. You can expect me to encourage and challenge you, when appropriate, and help you make sense of what you are experiencing. There may be times when therapy feels rough, particularly when we are looking at patterns you have used for a long time. We'll work through those moments together rather than expecting you to navigate them alone.
You will also have opportunities to practice skills between sessions. The goal isn't just talking about what is happening in your life—it's to help you develop tools you can use in your life.
The hope is over time, you leave therapy with a greater understanding of yourself, confidence in your ability to handle difficulties, and a sense that you can build a life worth living.

I believe strongly in the mind/body connection and the utilization of a holistic, client centered approach to address both physical and mental health as they both work in conjunction to promote quality of life. Hey there! :)
I'm a Licensed Independent Social Worker with Supervisory distinction (LISW-S) based in central Ohio. I earned my MSW from The Ohio State University and have spent the past decade doing what I love most—helping people heal, grow, and thrive.
My journey began as a trauma specialist working with children in Treatment Foster Care and adoption in inner-city Columbus. At the same time, I supported children, young adults, and families in Worthington, Ohio, helping them find balance and connection in their daily lives. It was during this time that I discovered my passion for supporting parents—especially those navigating the emotional waves of infertility, anxiety, depression, self-esteem challenges, and the beautifully complex world of parenting.
These experiences sparked a deep commitment to working with women to identify their strengths, overcome barriers, and step fully into their potential. I find so much joy in connecting with people from all walks of life, and I've had the privilege of working in urban, suburban, and rural communities. My current practice—and my roots—are in the beautiful Appalachian foothills of Ohio.
Outside of the therapy room, I’m a proud animal lover, plant enthusiast, and people-person through and through. I believe in the power of humor, honesty, and human connection—and I’m here to walk alongside you, wherever you are in your journey.
My name is Amber. I am a licensed professional clinical counselor in the state of Ohio. My role is to empower you on this journey of self-actualization. I bring authenticity, warmth, and a solution-oriented approach. We will be working side by side to identify your goals, values, and strengths. From there, we will process past experiences to help you move on to becoming your best self. I have been helping clients achieve their goals for the past several years. These clients range from the age of one-year-old to over fifty-years-old. About 60% of my clients are 12 and under. In working with younger children, I have had the most success using telehealth when parents are present to monitor, arrange a predictable environment, and assist with any technical issues. In working with younger children, the parents’ role is vital. I work as a team with parents and caregivers to build a healthy relationship and find the appropriate strengths-based parenting strategies for the child. Recommended parenting techniques are largely based on the Conscious Discipline model which encourages mindful parenting. With younger children, the parents’ cooperation is imperative to reach desired behavioral goals. I also draw from the approaches outlined in Working with Challenging Youth by Brent Richardson, Ed.D.
Hi, I’m Alex! Think of me as your outlet that's here to listen, support, and help you tackle whatever life throws your way. I’m passionate about helping individuals navigate life’s challenges and find healthier ways to cope. My work focuses on mental health and substance abuse therapy, and I’ve had the privilege of working with both youth and adults in individual, family, and group counseling settings.
I use a blend of evidence-based techniques in my practice, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Solution-Focused Therapy, all tailored to meet each person’s unique needs. I also have a background in teaching as an adjunct instructor, where I’ve had the honor of inspiring many former clients to pursue careers in human services and become advocates for their communities.
In group counseling, I often incorporate creative methods, drawing from my background in art to help clients express themselves and find healing in new ways.
Outside of work, I’m an avid reader, writer, and art enthusiast. I love spending time with family, playing video games, singing my heart out at karaoke, and sharing laughs with friends.
If you’re looking for support, whether it’s through therapy, guidance, or simply a safe space to explore your challenges, I’d love to work with you!
With 18 years of experience in the mental health and addiction field, I specialize in helping clients navigate the complex intersections of addiction, depression, and anxiety. My approach focuses on creating a non-judgmental, collaborative space where individuals can build sustainable, healthy coping skills and rediscover a sense of purpose. My desire is for clients to make the long-term life change that they desire.
Taking the first step toward therapy can feel scary or overwhelming, and my goal is to make that process feel as comfortable, supportive, and safe as possible. I believe that while life can be challenging, everyone deserves the opportunity to feel happy, balanced, and thriving. I am here to support you through life’s ups and downs and help you work toward becoming the healthiest and most authentic version of yourself.
I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker with over 14 years of experience working in a variety of settings and with individuals across the lifespan, from birth through older adulthood. My therapeutic approach is grounded in evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focused Therapy, and mindfulness-based approaches. I tailor treatment to meet each client’s individual needs, recognizing that therapy is not one-size-fits-all and that meaningful change happens through collaboration, trust, and a strong therapeutic relationship. I look forward to the opportunity to walk alongside you as you begin or continue your healing journey.
"My greatest strength is cultivating an atmosphere of deep safety, authenticity, and genuine connection where clients feel fully seen, understood, and unjudged. Clinically, I integrate evidence-based frameworks—including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Solution-Focused Therapy—with specialized Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to process deep-seated trauma at its root. Furthermore, my specialized training as a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT) candidate enables me to apply a rigorous, systematic framework to unravel complex behavioral patterns and addiction, offering clients both an empathetic space and a clear, structured roadmap for sustainable recovery."

My name is Darcy Smith, and I’m a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor Supervisor (LPCC-S) in the state of Ohio. I’m from Southern Ohio, and this community has been home for most of my life. I’ve raised my two sons here, who are now 19 and 6, and being able to serve the people and communities I know and love is something I’m genuinely grateful for.
My journey in the helping profession began about 16 years ago, when I started working as a Behavioral Rehabilitation Specialist at a short-term substance use treatment facility in West Virginia. That experience sparked a passion for understanding people, their stories, and the things that shape the way we move through the world.
I went on to earn an Associate in Arts and Sciences with an emphasis in Social Science and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Ohio University. I then spent seven years working at a local community mental health agency, where I had the opportunity to work with a wide variety of people, diagnoses, and levels of care. While working in the field, I earned my Master of Education in Counseling and Human Development with an emphasis in Mental Health Counseling from Lindsey Wilson University in Kentucky.
Over the years, those experiences shaped not only the therapist I wanted to become, but also the kind of space I wanted to create for the people I serve. Eventually, that vision became Soul Oasis Counseling and Psychotherapy Services, where I’m honored to be the owner and primary therapist.
I’m grateful to continue doing work I genuinely love and to have the opportunity to walk alongside people as they navigate some of life’s hardest, most confusing, and sometimes most meaningful moments.
With over 20 years experience as a School Social Worker, I recognized a growing need for students and families to have access to quality outpatient counseling and community resources. Throughout my career, I often saw individuals struggle to find a therapist they truly connected with or face barriers to receiveing the support they needed. That inspired me to become the change I wanted to see by extending my services beyond the school setting. My goal is to provide a warm, compassionate, and culturally responsive space where children, adolescents and adults feel seen, heard and empowered. I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship is the foundation for healing, and I am committed to helping each client build the skills, confidence, and resilience needed to navigate life's challenges and create lasting, meaningful change,
Compassionate and supportive.
My focus is on you and your process of acceptance and change. I take time to listen. I focus on strengths. I hold space for your pain. I collaborate with you.
My expertise lies in noticing and helping you notice.
