I’m Jessica Johnson, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor for over a decade. It’s my pleasure to help others sift through thoughts, feelings, and experiences to improve their well-being. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing techniques, but incorporate other therapies as needed for each client I support. I also enjoy nature, animals, hiking, traveling, reading, and spending time with family.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During our first session, I aim to understand what brought you to therapy, identify and settle on goals for our time together, and answer questions you may have. I ask for your honesty and transparency so we can be most effective as we begin our time together.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Our client-counselor relationship is critical as a foundation and my strengths in empathy, authenticity, and respect will support us as we begin working together. As a solution-focused therapist, I will encourage you in embracing the best path forward and provide a trusting environment as you do so.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

As an LPCC and LICDC, I serve all mental health and substance use diagnoses, however, I am best positioned to serve adult clients with anxiety, depression, substance use disorders, relationship stressors, work-life-balance concerns, and difficulties navigating life events. Clients will need to be interested in engaging in therapy, willing to develop and work toward goals, and be respectful of our time together.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is a foundational therapy I use with most clients. I believe strongly that our thoughts often contribute to our behaviors. If we find ways to improve our thinking, our emotions and behaviors will improve as well.

Motivational Interviewing

It is imperative that we are willing to explore change when in therapy. Motivational Interviewing is an approach with techniques rooted in change management.
