I specialize in building a strong and healthy rapport through focusing on client strengths and interests to assist in their personal growth. I help strengthen the therapeutic relationship by providing unconditional positive regard and taking a nonjudgmental stance for and towards my clients with empathy and connection to assist in growth. Life can be difficult most days, but some days and seasons life can be overwhelming. When life gets overwhelming sometimes we need to reach out to an outside source for help and guidance. I am here to provide that help and guidance that may be needed during a specific difficult season of life.
Within the first session of therapy a diagnostic assessment will be completed. This assessment covers information such as presenting concerns, history of mental health concerns, childhood history and relationships with parents, current relationships with parents, family members and peers, education and work history, addiction or generational patterns such as divorce, strengths, interests, education and job history, goals and expectations for therapy, review of limitations to confidentiality, and beginning of establishing rapport between client and therapist.
My greatest strengths as a provider are number one, establishing and working on continually building and maintaining rapport is my strength and my joy in providing therapy. When entering into a therapeutic relationship with clients I strongly focus on the client, their strengths and interests and build therapy upon these as the foundation to grow weaknesses into strengths. I provide empathy with a nonjudgmental stance and unconditional positive regard. I then connect these skills and focus areas to CBT strategies in order to increase client growth and success. I may be the expert in therapy and treatment knowledge but the client is the expert in themself and I use my expertise and theirs to connect and build growth into their lives through the therapeutic process.
I desire a client who is honestly looking for help and support and who will be willing to engage in processing and experiencing difficult and undesired emotions. They will be willing and ready to enhance the quality of their life through obtaining guidance and support, then applying techniques and possible changes within their life to increase their personal wellbeing. Their goals will be to navigate difficulties in relationships, with emotions, with work and professional life and to increase their overall health to live a more successful and satisfying life.
To increase knowledge of the connection between thoughts, feelings, and actions and empower clients to establish a level of control over their lives within this context.
By focusing on each individual client and their specific needs with empathy and a nonjudgmental stance to help guide clients to understanding and acceptance of their true selves.
