About me

Hi! I'm a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) and a Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor (LICDC) based in Ohio. In addition, I am a Substance Abuse Professional (SAP), and offer those in DOT related industries the opportunity to return to duty while insuring the safety of the public. I received my Master degree from Liberty University and have been working with adults, children and couples for over 31 years in various helping capacities. I help those that struggle with depression, anxiety, substance use disorders, trauma and other related issues.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then move into understanding specific challenges you're facing. We will work collaboratively to identify goals. This will help me create an individualized tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions. If you were provided assessment tools prior to our first session, we will take the time to review the findings.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My 20+years working in the child welfare field afford me the unique insight in working with individuals with trauma and abuse history. Additionally, my undergraduate degree and subsequent training in addiction studies allows me to offer a unique area of expertise to meet the needs of individuals with substance use disorders.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work collaboratively with individuals to discard their unconscious, inauthentic self and move to a place of empowerment and balance. I focus on the developmental effects that generational trauma, cultural/systemic oppression and environmental interactions have on the overall emotional well-being of adolescents, adults, couples as well as families.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have been trained to use CBT as one of my primary treatment modalities, focusing on how thoughts, beliefs and attitudes affect feelings and actions. I incorporate within my practice a form of CBT, using DBT-informed principles. DBT stands for dialectical behavioral therapy. I have received significant amount of training in this area in which I work collaboratively with the client to help understand and accept your emotions and thoughts without judging, while simultaneously working toward positive and effective change .
