New to Grow
For over thirteen years, I've dedicated my career to helping people heal, grow ad step into their fullest potential. My journey began in 2012 as a Child Protection Specialist with Cuyahoga County Children and Family Services. Where my passion for mental health and wellness truly came alive. Since then, I've earned my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from South University and became licensed by the State of Ohio, in 2016. I became Independently licensed as a LPCC Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in July of 2021. Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of working in a variety of settings-School counseling, Outpatient therapy, Group addiction treatment, Adolescent PHP programs, with families experiencing homelessness, residential and in psychiatric hospitals. No matter the setting, my mission has remained the same: to empower and uplift the Black community and the families I serve. As a trained trauma therapist, I take a person-centered and nonjudgmental approach, meeting each client exactly where they are. I draw from several evidence based modalities-including EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)- while integrating solution focused techniques to help clients visualize and work towards the life they desire. Whether I'm working with athletes striving for balance and mental resilience, couples seeking connection, or women rediscovering their purpose beyond life's pressures, my goal is to create a safe space for healing and growth. I understand how challenging it can be to reach out for help- but sometimes that is the first step toward becoming who you were meant to be.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In our first session of work together you can expect a relaxed experience. We will take time to get to know one another building rapport through conversation and you sharing what brought you to therapy at a comfortable pace for you. We will talk about your current concerns, what you're hoping to get out of therapy and any past experiences with counseling you feel is important to mention. I will ask questions to better understand your experiences, patterns and stressors but there is no pressure to share everything at once. Therapy is collaborative and you remain in control of what we discuss. I will answer any questions you may have and discuss what would be most helpful for you and next steps. My goal is for you to feel heard, supported and clearer about whether this feels like a good fit. It is completely normal to be nervous before your first session-many clients do. My role is to provide a safe, non judgmental space where you can begin this process with clarity and confidence.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
What sets me apart as a Therapist is my ability to be relatable and establish rapport with the clients I serve. My balance of compassion and practicality. I don't believe therapy should feel vague or overwhelming. I focus on helping clients understand why certain patterns exist while also building skills and giving tangible tools that can be used outside of sessions. My approach is collaborative, structured and paced with care. I can be challenging but considerate. I integrate evidenced based methods such as DBT and CBT in a way that feels accessible, supportive and tailored to your goals. Clients often appreciate that sessions feel grounding, honest and purposeful. My goal is to help you feel seen and understood while also moving towards meaningful lasting change.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
My ideal clients are individuals who feel emotionally overwhelmed, stuck in unhelpful patterns, or impacted by past experiences that continue to show up in daily life. You may struggle with anxiety, intense emotions, relationship stress, sports performance or feeling disconnected from yourself. You're open to learning new skills, gaining insight and doing meaningful work toward feeling more balanced and in control.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I’ve been using CBT in my practice for the past four years, however I have utilized it as a Clinician for nine. It’s helped dozens of clients challenge recurring thoughts and manage their anxiety. We’ll use CBT to recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors interact with one another. We’ll then use that knowledge to change your thinking patterns, which will help you lead a more relaxed and less stressful life.
Couples Counseling
I used evidence based couples counseling approaches to help partners improve communication, rebuild trust an strengthen emotional connection. My work focuses on helping couples understand unhelpful patterns, navigate conflict more effectively and create lasting change together.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I use DBT to help individuals manage intense emotions, reduce overwhelm and build healthier coping skills. The focus is on practical tools that support emotional balance, self-understanding and improvement.
EMDR
I have utilized EMDR in my practice for the past two years to assist individuals with processing distressing experiences and reduce the emotional impact of past events. This approach supports healing at a deeper level so clients can feel more present, grounded and in control.
