I believe that each one of us has the answers to our problems inside of us. However, sometimes we need someone on our journey to help us unlock those answers by asking the right questions---things you may not have considered, presenting proven strategies, and psychoeducation. Although, you will make strides with the energy and effort you give, the number one predictor that one will improve is the quality of the therapeutic relationship. I hope to provide a place of warmth, compassion, and acceptance in which you feel empowered and free to approach any concerns. I am here to help you along on your journey.

My name is Betsy and I am a licensed mental health clinician with over 10 years of experience working with adolescents and adults. Through my training and experience, I have developed a philosophy that simply listening, validating and being non-judgmental is “help.” However, to guide a patient’s growth in mental health treatment, it is important to challenge them in a non-threatening manner but to promote thought is necessary. Additionally, It is sometimes important to be the mirror that clients do not want to look in. Lastly, treatment should be collaborative and educate which means providing psycho-education information, written treatment work, and provide well rounded mental health guidance and support to help patient identify and achieve treatment goals.

I have a passion for helping people of color and supporting individuals navigate trauma, anxiety, neurodivergence, identity, stress, self confidence, and interpersonal difficulties and conflict. It is my belief that therapy is a partnership between clinician and client and it is my goal to help my clients achieve healing, wellness, resiliency, and tolerance for life’s challenges and stressors in ways that truly align with their personal goals and highest visions for themselves. I utilize evidenced based practices and my therapeutic modalities of choice are: CBT, DBT, ERP, Motivational Interviewing, REBT influence, ACT, and Mindfulness. I received my Master's in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology from Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado. As a transpersonal counselor, I view my clients' health through three lenses: Emotional, Physical, and Spiritual. While we may not discuss these in each of your sessions, they are always a part of your experience. My familiarity with working with depression and anxiety allows me to help others in all stages of life.
You are the one who holds everything together. You notice what needs to be done before anyone asks. You say yes when your body is saying no. You keep the peace at work, in relationships, and in your family. On the outside, you may look calm, capable, and high functioning, but inside you often feel exhausted, anxious, and overwhelmed. Rest can feel unfamiliar and slowing down can feel uncomfortable, even when you have done enough.
The parts of you that stay helpful, responsible, and emotionally aware are not flaws. They developed in response to earlier experiences where being dependable, agreeable, or highly attuned helped create safety and connection. Over time, patterns like overthinking, overfunctioning, people pleasing, and perfectionism can become automatic and draining.
My work focuses on helping people understand and shift these patterns of anxiety, burnout, and self pressure. Over time, this creates more clarity, steadier boundaries, and less internal urgency. Decisions become less driven by fear of disappointing others and more guided by your own awareness. Relationships often feel more balanced, and there is more space for rest, steadiness, and a sustainable way of living.
